 Ok guys, had a little mishap when hauling our bikes back from Miami this weekend. Had mine and my husbands bikes loaded in an enclosed trailer. We checked on them every time we stopped for gas, everything was secure. Some time after the last check, the ratchet strap on my husbands bike failed and the bike fell over on my SESG. His brake lever landed on my front fender leaving at BIG dent and scratches in the paint (down to the metal)(fortunately no other damage to either bike!). A new one runs $1169 and 6-9 week lead time. EBay has a used one listed for $425 with a few scratches, no dents.
I am looking for suggestions/options from you guys. Thanks for your help.
Kim

Contact site member/vendor Joe of Xtreme Dimension (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=22985)... and see his thread Custom Paint (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=85822.0) in the Vendor Discount Board. With the damage to your fendor not sure if he can repair that but you can provide him a link to the fender on eBay and he may be able to give you a price to repair it... then you can determine whether it's better to just buy new or buy used and have it repaired.... you may also want to check one of the dealers that give discounts if the price you quoted is full price.... Good luck, sorry to read of your mishap.

If it were my bike, Joe would be the only person I would consider. I've not had any damage like that but based on all the others here on the site that have used Joe at Xtreme, one could not go wrong with him.

Joe will let you know the best way to go Fix or get New one !!!

i had joe do a cvo fender for my wife's rgc in big blue pearl. obviously, the paint was cheaper than the cvo paint, but the time frame was very quick. i ordered the cvo front fender in prime, had it shipped to me, then i shipped it to joe, he painted it, and then sent it back to me. even with all the transit time, it took less than 3 weeks from order to install.

Had the KW Wrapper on my '12 SESG.. Went well with the 19" Agitator up front, excellent quality too :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for all the input! I bought the one on Ebay and will see how it looks when it comes in. The guy said it was mint with 2 small 3/8" inperfections. Will keep you posted!

Had a similar thing happen to me... had my bike less than 30 days and a chick (foreigner, no less) backed right into my bike! Crumpled up the whole front lip. Luckily she had insurance... but I lucked out and a guy had my exact fender for $300! I bought it and spent the insurance money on lights! :)
I'd say its worth the minor imperfections on the Ebay fender! Its gonna get scratched with rocks and chit anyway at some point. Save the money and buy something else!

This is why Xtreme Dimension is THE place you (and at some point me) wants to go if you have any painting issues with your CVO paint. Not only does Joe do an exceptional job, he didn't attempt to talk S.E. Chic into anything...just good customer service and support in the route the potential customer decided. Your a good egg, Joe
