MapSource DVD Needed
« on: April 24, 2009, 01:07:13 PM »

I recently purchased a Zumo 450 on this site and the Mapsource DVD was not in the box. It was not the person I purchased it from fault. He did not get the DVD when he purchased the unit. Would anyone loan me there DVD or make a copy? I will return either one back to you and pay shipping to me. I don't want your serial number I have one, just no disk. Garmin offered to sell me one for $149.00 but thought I would ask here first. I have, from Garmin, the unlock code that matches my Zumo, I am not looking for bootleg software.

Will the software work more than once?

I think what you need is the City Navigator North America NT which you can buy online for $99.  Mapsource is the general trip planning program and can be downloaded free here.  Hope this helps

Thanks for the link but that is an update. I already tried that it installs but wont run, it looks for an earlier version and when it doesn't find one it shuts down. The Mapsource software is what I am needing for my PC so I can can plan trips on the desktop and upload to my Zumo. The City Navigator is the map section for the Zumo. I have those and the unit is now registered to me and when I go to my account on Garmin is shows me the unlock key for the DVD, I just don't have the DVD.
Thanks again. :2vrolijk_21:

I have emialed my friend that you bought it from to see if he will burn you a copy of the DVD from his other unit since Garmin says you have everything you need except the DVD.

I have a similar problem with my Garmin Streetpilot 2820.  I live in Virginia but am currently in Scottsdale, AZ.  Before leaving VA, I used MapSource and uploaded a 1500 mile route to the unit and plan to start the ride on1 May.  The route seems intact, but I'm unable to "Find" a specific address or nearby POI's.  Seems the map doesn't have them uploaded and my disk is back home in VA.  Evidently, I only uploaded area info for VA, NC, MD, etc and not for the states this far west.  I don't remember an option limiting me to only uploading a few states.

Any CVO's in the local area able to help me out?  Any suggestions on getting an area map uploaded to the unit?   Thanks in advance!!

Yes, the roads are there when I view the map. No info on fuel or stations, etc.  When i try to type in an address to go to, it asks me for a state.  I then start to type an AZ but it immediately tells me there's no state found.  If I type in VA, NC, MD, it allows me to go further.  Hope this helps.

WOW, sounds like the maps didn't load. I just found another forum, www.zumoforums.com try looking there. One thing you might could do as a bandaid, go the the Harley tripmaker site. If has hotels, and shell gas stations you could then send those to your unit. Not much of a solution, but it might help until someone more knowlegable can give you a better answer.
