Weather was great again this weekend. 73F both days. Yesterday Terrie bought an 09 Street Glide so today we dicided to go for a ride up in the foothills.....along Hwy. 49.
First picture of her bike.......as the sun came up this morning......
-
Good color  .
-
Fat tire........
-
Some of the first shots of Terrie riding a bagger.......
-
Started out a little chilley this morning but it quickly warmed up as the day went along......
-
A quick stop by the BMW dealership to get some connections for her Gerbing......she's been grinning like that since last night. ;D
-
Up in the foothills just outside of Sacramento.....
-
Up in Auburn......
-
A shot of Terrie doing about 80 MPH up I-80.....
-
Up at the Auburn/Foresthill Bridge.........she's still grinin.... ;D
-
Got to get a shot of my bike in there. For perpective....you can see a semi truck on the far right side of the bridge....it just reached the concrete abutement.
-
To give you perspective of size in this photo.....see the four people standing on the beach in the lower left hand corner. There's a semi up on the Foresthill bridge, on the right side of the photo.....
FORESTHILL BRIDGE
The Auburn-Foresthill Bridge which soars 730 feet above the streambed of the American River's north fork opened for public use on Labor Day, 1973. The 2,428 feet long span with piers only 16 feet shorter than those of the Golden Gate was built at a cost of $13 million by the Bureau of Reclamation. The bridge was constructed as a replacement for the existing Auburn-Foresthill bridge which was to have been inundated by the filling of the Auburn Dam Reservoir. This was to have occurred by 1983. (as of today, Dec 1, 2001, it has not been constructed). It was estimated the cost of maintenance of the span would run $425,00 per year. This bridge was opposed strongly by environmentalist--in part because of the opposition to the dam in general. It has become a favorite of “parachutists”, and movie makers as well as tourists.
This bridge has made the trip to Foresthill about 20 miles east of Auburn, an easier and safer trip. The old road twisted and turned down the river grade across the old bridge then made its winding way up out of the river gorge.
This road known as the Old Foresthill Road, is still used by many people to enjoy the recreation of the river for gold mining, swimming, hiking or for historic or nature walks and access to the Mammoth Bar ORV area and to the Eldorado side of the American River.
The new Foresthill Road, across this bridge has made it safer and easier to reach the interesting and historic gold mining town of Foresthill.

Yep, added the windshield pouches and the batwing fairing vents. Going to Corbin this weekend to get a seat made. Then looking at color matched king tour pack and leg fairings.
-
While at Corbin stop in San Juan Bautista and have lunch at Jardins for me, make sure you sit outside. Terry loves that place the roosters walk the street.

JC
It looks great.
Glad she's liking it.
Reminds me of when Nancy got her first bagger.
She loved her Lowrider but in 14 months of riding the bagger she had only ridden the Lowrider twice.
Great pictures also!
:2vrolijk_21:

Congrats to Terri on her fantastic looking new ride. Once one gets over the mental anguish of deciding to move up to a more comfortable ride for a few more miles, it just gets better and better. I know she will continue to enjoy this ride, the smile tells it all.

One of Terrie's comments (wish I'd recorded it)..... "I don't know what I'm going to do with all this extra room, now" :huepfenlol2: I told her "oh, I'm sure it will not take long for you to get that figured out". :nixweiss:

Marty, I've been trying to talk her into a bagger since she had her 03 Dyna a couple of years back. I gave up. It was our ride to Solvang.....the wind down and back....everybody else looking and feeling so comfortable. It was a couple hundred miles into the ride home, shooting up I-5 when I hear her through the bluetooth kind of mumble "o.k. I'm done....I'm getting a bagger". I had to ask her "what did you say?" Thought I was hearing things.
It's not me that moves so quick.......it's her. Just who she is.....

Whatever it takes, huh Don!
By the way (most of you that have commented already know).....Terrie will jump on here and read the comments about our rides and GTGs, etc. however, she'll not post on here (or any other web site). She works for the State of California on their computer system, all day long. When she gets home she wants nothing to do with computers. :nixweiss: But I can tell all of you........she appreciates the comments and she'll reply to them in person. :2vrolijk_21:
-
Oh! JC Congrats on selling the trailer, I got an email from Duke last night, but have to say I think you'll regret it?? I'm getting him all hooked up with a new hitch and paint!
-
I can relate about the computers. Have done office work for 13 years, the last 3 years were computer work all day long. When I got home, who would want to get on a computer :bigcry:
But now life has taken a different direction for me & I'm not stuck doing that anymore :orange:
Ride safe & can't wait to see the new ride!!!!!

Thanks Don. I told Duke that you had the guy's phone # from Big Daddy's Pull Toys and also for the painter. Looks like he's not waisting any time. I drug that trailer from Sacramento to Tracy in 45 minutes, last night.....and that was with a gas stop in Lathrop. 85 and 90 mph all the way. I couldn't help but wonder what people were thinking with a motorcycle passing them at that speed pulling a trailer.
Hello all
I want to thank all of you for all your congratulations and words of encouragement.

Nothin' better than a Hot Chick...or maybe in this case...A Hot Chick in need of warmth on a motorsickle...NICE!!!
Jock can say this because he knows he lives on the East Coast and it would be a long way for JC to come and kick Jock's azz
