Was just thinking back on the CVO events of 2010 and was wondering (and hoping) everyone had as much fun as Nancy and I did.
Tell us about the event you attended and if you had fun.
For Nancy and I these events are some of our best CVO bike riding times we have.
Seeing old friends, making new friends and riding great roads, it doesn't get any better than that!
Tell us about the event you attended and show us pictures of your best memories from those events.

I had read his post and at Maggie valley got the chance to meet "Chains" and his wonderful wife.
And then there's Phil! What a character.
Good times, great bikes and fantastic roads!
SBB
-
At NRG who remembers this moment?
SBB
-
Another member we had the chance to meet.
And he has great taste in bikes!
SBB
-
Then there's the old friends we got to see.
SBB
-
More new friends, great people from some place called Ohio!
SBB
-
Look close, he was probably thinking, "If I find a Teal the set will be complete."
Call that idea DONE.
Don and Soozie it was great meeting and riding with you.
SBB
-
Wonder what they were thinking?
SBB
-
Some of these guys had never been on the Dragon.
That problem was solved. TWICE!
SBB
-
Doesn't get any better than this!
Jim and Joan, always a pleasure to be in your company!

Already a nice thread Chip.
We have so many CVO GTGs and rides here in Nor Cal, it's hard to seperate one from another. Seems like they're every weekend in the summer.....here are links to a few of them:

WoW! Chip
That was great and was trully one of the highlights of our year riding back and meeting all our CVO friends from the East Coast. We can't thank you and Nancy enough for your hospitality opening up your home to us and treating us like family.

Hi All,
We attended Maggie Valley. We trailered from Mason City, Ia to Martin, Tn to my son's house and stayed overnight. We dropped our dog off with him and then drove to MV the next day. We were only able tho stay Wed and Thurs because of baby shower for my son and daughter in law on Sat.
We went to ride by ourselves because we wanted to go to the Dragon and other areas. Our time was very limited, but we had a great time and met very nice people. We will be back.
On our way to Mesa, Az on Tuesday. We are trailering our cvo and will ride all of Jan and Feb. and will meet with other great people. We are also going to Barrett Jackson.
Talk to everyone later.

we did Lugano (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=38457.255) this year, some pics are here (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=51870.0) and there (http://web17.ibiza044.server4you.de/slideshow.php?set_albumName=album262). Definitely was great fun - even with the little mishaps our british friends had to endure (failed brakes, lost teeth and the like) ;)
-
Oh boy did we have fun! Made the Pala, CA GTG and had an absolute blast!! :orange: What a great bunch of folks. We are so looking forward to Tahoe and whatever else we can make. Can't think of anything more fun than getting together with our CVO friends and riding..... :2vrolijk_21:
-
MV10 was as good if not better than my first, MV08. New friends, old friends, great ridin'......it doesn't get any better til I move to NC and then be able to do more than one event. Looking outside and waiting for the blizzard just sucks.
-
MV10 was our first GTG and I gotta be honest with you I didn't know what to expect and was quite nervous about hangin' out with, and riding in a group with people I have never met before. Well, we pulled into the parking lot with the bike on the trailer and before we even got out of the truck four guys were walking over to see if they could give us a hand unloading. :2vrolijk_21: They say your first impressions are usually right and I'm telling you I was impressed and felt welcomed. By the end of the four days I felt as though I had known everyone there for years and felt very sad that it was over. Riding all the hills and the "twisties" was a new experience for me and I absolutely loved it but we could have been on the straightest roads in the prairies and I would have had just as much fun because of the CVO family I was with. I can't thank the organizers enough for all the prep work that they do to make these GTG'ers fun for all their old friends and new, you have inspired me to start a conversation about organizing a "Canadian GTG here in Ontario in the next couple of years. Thanks to all the members on this fantastic site for allowing Diane and I into your CVO family and we wish you a happy and prosperous 2011.

I think JR washed about 6 bikes that afternoon

West By Gawd Virginia was a blast! So great to meet some new folks and catch up w/ some old. Wife was happy, rides were fun, scenery was great, camaraderie was fantastic, outstanding motorcycles, and on and on and on. We'll be in for another or two next year. Thanks to those that made it happen and the folks that attended!
-
good times
-
How many CVO'ers does it take to change a windshield :nixweiss: :drink:
-
And lets not forget the generosity of some in our family such as "lunch for seventy please" once again I would like to thank whoever it was that treated us so kind :2vrolijk_21:
-
We attended our 1st 2 GTG's this year NRG & MV10, NRG, AWESOME :bananarock: Was able to put names with faces and meet a lot of new friends, Myself, Mrs. SERK3, Jasen (Boss Hogg) and Momma Hogg (this time) are just waiting for info for the next one.
MV10 was good we meet more new friends, the BBQ Dinner was great, We did not go on any of the planned rides because living in Knoxville those rides are what we have done just for a Sat./Sun afternoon ride. We did go on a ride with Chip & Nancy that was great and new roads for us, We left the H-D Dealership, went across Black Mtn. then thru Old Fort, N.C. and came out on I-26 East of Asheville, Maybe this should be a planned ride for MV11.
Bottom line we had a great time at both of the GTG's and hope to attend many many more.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

MV10...Had a blast! Missed seeing my O'l roomy Dave (Gettinold), my amigo Jorge, Candy, Gary, and Don to name a few, but was a joy to meet some new folks. Paul and Sheri, Marty and Diane, Rick and Debbie, Brad and Val, GH, Grandpadoc & Greg from CA, TN, and my brother in Christ, Bob from Ohio to begin with. I love to stay close to my buddies Brian, Tommy, Bobby and AJ because I don't have to plan nothing except to laugh and enjoy myself. Tommy's cousin Tim always has the groceries and other needs. Chipster and Nancy, Otis, Hubbard, Kenny, Bubba and Jock lift me up just being around them. I enjoy the stories that fly when there around. So many wonderful people! Every one of you are wonderful! Hogbreath, didn't get to talk with you much, have to call me when you ride down to Rendezvous. There are many I didn't mention and I mean not to offend. Sitting out in front of the rooms after a wonderful day of riding and cutting up laughing so hard my cheeks and side would hurt. Paul and Greg cuttin up on the guitar and Paul slammin Crazy Joe as he makes up songs. Sitting at the campfire reeking of smoke. Seemed every time I moved, so did the smoke. Missed meeting Chappy and pray I will have another chance next year. Man I had so much fun! I about had a through the nose moment when I was drinking a beverage and AJ pulls up and we see this...
-
Paul singing and Crazy Joe always giving us something to laugh at. :D

On the porch... my side still hurts! :2vrolijk_21:

Paul and Greg, these guys are talented. I could listen to them play and sing all night. Great times! :2vrolijk_21:

Marty and Diane...great folks! I was blessed to meet them. Marty brought a bunch of Canadian beer with him and one night Brians friend Tony who had many beers already finished a beer and Marty asked him if he wants a Canadian beer? Tony said sure...what kind is it? :confused5: :o :D :D ;D

I missed Pala but made it to MV10! What a great time and group! See JR's posts at reply numbers 62 et seq. above. Everyone I met was terrific and I'm afraid to list because I know I'll leave some out but some folks were just fabulous to me. AJ for his great welcome, escort to Maggie Valley and directions for the coolest ride from MV to Hilton Head. Tommy for great jokes and juice. Tim for supplying the guitar. Chip for being Chip!
AJ and the rest of the Earps:
-
Paul and Sherry for great music and times not to mention a very cool tat:

My "escort" to MV:

Extra special kudos to THE MAN from Savannah, GA. After MV he was kind enough to come find me in Savannah, take to his home and out to dinner. Then a personal tour of St. Augustine, Jacksonville and Daytona Beach, FL. It just could not have gotten better. I give you.... JOCK!

I enjoyed NRG and MV 2010. I wish my knee wasn't acting up during New River, but I still enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
Susie came to Maggie Valley with me, ( Her first GTG, ) She enjoyed meeting everyone and is looking forward to the next GTG.
Thanks to all who made both trips enjoyable. Next year I will take pictures, as I got a new camera for Christmas! :2vrolijk_21:
Hope to make it to Tahoe this year, we'll see if it comes to pass.

New River Gorge was my first. Was a newbie and welcomed. Rode solo when there due to some country I wanted to see. I'll never forget the ride home to Ohio on WV 16. Wow. Second was Maggie Valley. No longer a newbie and in with both feet. We rode hard (meaning good) for two days. Met lots of new people and had an absolute blast, including the Dragon. I'll never forget trip home, kickstand up at 5:30 a.m., riding through the mountains in the dark and seeing the sun come up from my Street Glide on the 10 hour trip home. I'm making plans for Tahoe.
I've ridden a lot solo. The GTG's break the solitude and add a bunch. The fellowship adds a special dimension. Great mix of people, all types and interests, bound by the CVO experience.
Not to be missed.

That was part of the deal. If she cleaned the bike, she got to go. :)
She didn't clean it before New River, besides someone has to work in the family!
I'm too busy being retired.

No, I am the cause of the bad knee. I did some electrical work and was working from a ladder for two days.
