I am about 45% the way on resizing the posts perhaps that is the issue?

Great pictures and story Jock.  Since you own several bikes what was the selection process in choosing the Kawasaki?  Were there areas unsuitable for a FD?

larger gas tank
road terrain
no worries regarding damaging the bike
different challenge
