Hey  All,
If you have had trouble viewing my progress, this may help.  The link below takes you to my, "Trips," page. Below the title, "Charlie In The Hoka Hey,"  Click the small orange lettered, "BigMacc" username.  This shows the current map.

Click the, "Full Screen," indicated at the lower center of the map to see a larger version which gives the option to view progress by each fifty SPOTS, per map page.  You may also select any of the individual SPOT points indicated down the left hand column and, scroll through the, "Pages," indicated at the lower left.  Currently indicating, "Page 1 of 5."

http://www.spotadventures.com/user/trips?user_id=54273

Many have e-mailed asking how to view the maps.  This is is the best way I've found to navigate the SPOT Adventures site without creating a, "sign in," of your own.  Don may have a better way.   :nixweiss:  But, will he share?   :huepfenlol2:

All the best,
Hoka Hey!
Charlie

AZ.....thanks for the post.  At that mileage rate in 45 hours, you may be a contender for sure! :2vrolijk_21:  We'll try to get a porcupine alert to you in time. :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Jorge and Marth are just great like that.......two of the best hosts any visitor could ever hope for.  They were both there for me when I really needed it and didn't hesitate.  I'm indebted to them for ever! :2vrolijk_21:   By their "cave" I assume you mean their condo and not their home?  Isn't that place incredable.......he should charge admission. :)  Oh, and don't forget the garage.

Many new photos posted from mi amigo's garage and cave:

  http://s929.photobucket.com/albums/ad137/AZSERK/Phoenix%20to%20Key%20West/

Please forgive some of the haze in the photos.  A wee bit of humidity.

Jorge and I went for a great cruise last night.  He was aboard the FXR4 and I on the FLHTCUSE.  We rode over to the Everglades and, during our return, stopped at the Char Hut where I was treated to one of the best hamburgers, ever.
The exhaust on the FXR4 sounds fantastic!  I could cruise behind that sweet symphony all day!  And, the FLHTCUSE is one sweet ride!  A great time indeed!  :2vrolijk_21:

Onward to Key West in a few hours.

Got a phone call from Charlie sometime this morning though only heard the message about an hour ago.  First official leg of the "Challenge" was off and rolling.  Though it didn't sound to be particularly straight.  Said the waypoints had them rolling some 650-ish miles back and forth across south Florida to get to the first official checkpoint at Rossmeyer's.

Charlie made it sound like a very scenic ride though. So taking 650 miles to cover 425 or so may not be such a bad deal after all.

Have fun Charlie.  Ride safe and enjoy!

Am watching this with interest from Aust as i like a bit of long distance riding
The time i see on the spot does not seem correct 21st June 1.56 pm??
He also seems to be getting of course a bit, I thought the idea was to get to Alaska ASAP

Thanks Twolane that explains a bit
Keep the reports coming
Thanks

Goad is to get to Alaska first.  So long as you do it following the prescribed waypoints and checkpoints the event masters give them each day.

By the way, and just as a matter of commentary; for Charlie's sake I hope they don't route them over water without a ferry.  Doesn't seem that far fetched after today's routing though....

I guess the first 100 riders or so into Rossmyers would be disqualified already
It would be hard not to break any road rules without having a GPS or 2 to maintain averages at a winning pace.
I dont think it will be the best rider that wins but probably the best (or luckiest)  mathematician
