Well here they go. Chris, Roger, Melanie, and Ernie are on their way right now to learn more from Mark. Marty and Paula should be leading them down to the training location near L.A.X. I was scheduled to be one of Marks students, but with my recent finger injuries I had to cancel. Bummer for me, but last night while leading them down from Nor. Cal. my starter gave up at our last fuel stop and we had to push start the bike. Things like this always happen the day before I have to return to work! Bike is down and I need it next week

If you ever get the chance I strongly recommend you look up Mark, aka Ironhorse, and take the training he provides, it is well worth your time. Sorry I will miss today, but there is next time.

Dave sorry to hear about the starter. Good news.... you were able to ride it home and that had to feel good. Your hand is going to take some time to heal. We don't heal as fast as we use to.

That is why I say I have the greatest friends! At this point I have 3 starters to choose from. Thanks to Ernie, Van, and Don for their offers, but Ernie offered first and I accepted.
Yes I considered this would be my chance to go chrome, but $$$ is just not there at this time, hey that is a couple nights hotel at a GTG! You see my priorities!

Knowing Anne....she probably took more than that...I know they got home pretty late...heavy traffic...and lots of lane splitting. Roger and I didn't get home til 830...so they probably made it by 930 or so. I'm sure Chris will post some when he gets a chance...great weekend...Loved seeing you and Soozie of course!!! Great weekend with great friends (again). Taking the class for the second time was a lot easier than the first time through. I guess that I am getting better! I got a lot out of the class again, broke a few bad habits, and became a better rider. I STRONGLY recommend this class, Everyone, regardless of experience, will benefit from this class! Call Mark and sign up!

Well of course it was great seeing us what is a ride without us

the car was a blast but we sure wish we could have been riding, but the only bike set up for two up is the Cherry bomb and it's at Jims for an over haul

Ernie I told Chris when he's ready for his second good around we might be so we all can do it over again!

Who really misses those days?

To keep riding then, you either had to be a skilled mechanic or had a good friend that was one........

If you had resources (money) you did not need to ride those.............

Had to carry oil and tools

That is what made me ride Honda back then...............I liked to ride more than wrench

That oil looks nice and clean, HD still had chain oilers back then...I shut mine off and lubed the chain with modern molylube...It dosent leak until the primary cup is full, then I tip it to the right and drain it..Its a beaut!

That was how we changed the oil back in the day. As it leaked out the bottom, we just poured more in the top.

We had a great time with everybody. Very nice of Don and Soozie to pick Marty up at the Airport, take him to Jim's and cage it down to Morrow Bay for lunch with us. Chris and Ernie did great in Mark's "Ride Like A Pro" class

Looks like I'm going to have some competition when they start practicing. Always fun to see some of the SoCal Crew. Thank you for your hospitality

Mark's class is always great! Even though I've been to a few, I still learn something from him even from just listening. Long trip back after lunching with Marty and Paula. Splitting lanes for 30 + miles (after riding close to 400 miles) due to Laguna race traffic and Gilroy garlic festival was a tad frustrating

I have to say Anne and I had a fantastic weekend

It was just great being with our friends

This NorCal krew is just an amazing bunch of people!!!

Marty and Paula sharing there home with Ernie, Roger & Mel, Anne and I all spending the night and getting up at 4:45 so they could ride to "Ride Like A Pro" with us. You Guys are Ace's in my book

Dave and Donna along with Van riding out to Morro Bay to meet us for lunch, thank you, it made our day!!!

Ernie, always there for us, wether it's on the road or in the class you are always there with a smile

Don and Soozie you really followed us in style, thanks for brightening up our day!

Mark, I have to say I was a little apprehensive about taking the course but you made me feel very comfortable and at ease so I could at least try to follow you. I ended up having a whole lotta fun and feel like you have helped me become a better rider. For anyone who has the oppurtunity to take Marks course do not pass it up!!! You will have fun and learn some cool things about riding

Well I guess that leaves Roger & Mel, you guys know how much we enjoy our friendship. And if it wasn't for Roger advising Anne to get me the "Ride Like A Pro" class for Christmas this great weekend would not have happened, at least for us it wouldn't have. So thanks again for just being who you are

Mark, Yes, Anne took it last weekend while I was goofing off when you guys were using the rest room. As you can see, I've learned to move my left foot outward so as to not inadvertently shift into neutral as the floorboard rises from the asphalt. (don't ask me how I know this)

That's the name for the womens riding group.

Although I originally wanted the women to call themselves the "Heart Breakers", I think they should call their group the "Trouble Makers". I can see them all rolling into town, Suzy, Melanie, Susan, Terri...... all wearing vests that depict a broken heart (In the shape of a V-Twin of course). The top rocker over it says "Trouble Makers" The bottom rocker can contain their nicknames, like "Bling Girl", "Bandit", "Thong Dancer" and so on.

Looking at the pictures and it's the end of July in leather is killing me! It was 100 here today and I rode to the store in shorts and flops...I know!
