We rode out to 29 Dreams today for their season closing...there were hundreds and hundreds of bikes there today!! I've never seen it so crowded!! It was a beautiful day, with temps in the low 70's by lunch time, so a lot of people were out riding. Tim and Cathy, the owners of Dreams, had a free buffet of cold cuts, spiral sliced ham, 'tater salad, pasta, homemade cakes, and rolls. Of course, there were plenty of [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] to purchase as well. There was a line to get brewskies, but 99% of the people who go there drink responsibly, as the road to get there is full of twisties, going up onto a ridge line, then back down the other side. Dreams is out in the country, about 25 miles from my house, but always a nice ride, and always interesting people and nice looking scooters of all kinds. We saw familiar faces, and familiar bikes, plus a few I'd not seen there previously. Saw a Red Bike, a Purple SERK (Nait and BD), 03 SERK, 05 SEVROD (Orange....Ed, V, and Jorge), a few one of a kind, and lots and lots of other bikes. There's always a few vintage bikes there too, and we saw an old Beemer with a sidecar, some VW trikes, a Honda 750 Four, to name a few.
Tim and Cathy are expanding Dreams this Winter...they will upgrade the cabins to include self contained baths/showers (now is a nice bathhouse), bigger campgrounds, and a small motel with paved parking. We almost couldn't find a parking place today there were so many people there. It's a private club, so you must join (5 bucks for the year), but it's the best 5 bucks you'll ever spend. They are great people who really enjoy all the bikers that come to visit them...they put up with no BS, so everybody just has a good time around the outdoor firepits, has a few beers/drinks, and behaves themselves. Highly recommended if you're in the area!!
Here's a few pics...first one is a pull-off on the ridgeline going over the mountain to get there....
