Rider's Claw and the nano and power supply
« on: March 15, 2009, 11:33:23 AM »

I've just ordered from Ken at Rider's Claw a mount for a 4th gen nano.

Couple of questions:

1.  Here in the UK it's not always that dry, how weatherproof is a nano or does anybody have any tips on keeping it dry?

2. To power the nano, do you use the cigarette lighter on my FLHTCUSE4, or do you attach somewhere else.  Any views on the best cable for power?

Thanks

Jon

Jon I don't have a Nano, I have a Classic.

I weatherproof mine by putting it in a waterproof clear container purchased at a boat supply [Boaters World]

Cut a notch in the case for the wire to go into and clear silicone the wire/hole

If it is raining I can't use the touch screen because the cover is closed....when not raining I just dont put the cover/lid on.

I use the poor mans version. A plastic bag with a tie wrap or zip tie. Same with the GPS. Looks real classy  ;) but it works. Also  put it in the tripple windshield bags, just no access.
