LEGEND SUSPENSION
« on: April 05, 2011, 04:23:54 PM »

I'm not sure if anyone out there has done this but yesterday I purchased the Legend 708 suspension. Due to being 5' 7" I've been researching what would be the best way to lower myself when needed. First I thought I was going to lower my seat with the F.B.I. 3" lowering kit but after adding the math it was to expensive for me right now. I figured it would have cost about $3000.00 if I did the work myself. After reading a bunch of threads I felt the best way to go was to purchase the suspension from LEGEND. For those that are thinking about getting one I found a site called Hyperformance.com from the Austin, TX area that had them on sale until April 30, 2011. They are selling them for $1357.00 compared to most places at $1600 or more. They also give 2.5% discount to military and police members. If anyone has done this to there 2010 please let me know how the install was and how you like it. I will keep everyone posted once I am done. Hopefully I will get them in 10 days and the weather will get better in New England.

Update: I installed the Legend air suspension today and I am very HAPPY!! The install was very easy and my problem of not being flat footed is resolved. I highly recommend this product to anyone that has been thinking about it. It took me 2 hours to do this job with some coffee breaks. The second best thing about this is the bike looks awesome when it is lowered all the way. I love that slammed look. I will try to put some pictures in here so everyone can see it. If there is anyone out there that has any question about this install please send me a message and would love to help.

At 6'01" I don't have the vertical challenge you speak of but I did see the Legend systems at AZ Bike Week and became extremely interested.  I love the look of the slammed out scoot sittin there and then bein able to raise it up and ride off.  Wondering how the ride actually is on the road.

Can you post if you find a big difference in comfort?  I am having a hard time finding the right adjustment on my stock set up and find it either way too stiff or it feels so soft when I hit a bump I think my tailbone is comin out of my skull.

I did a 40 mile ride and I can honestly say it was very smooth. When the weather gets better I plan to do a long ride to see how I feel. I let you know.

I have had Legend air suspension added to my last 2 bikes before I even took them out of the shop, the 2011 cvo street glide doesn't lower as much as my previous bike because of the larger back tire but it still goes low enough. The ride is better than a factory Harley and the lifetime warranty is no bull, I broke one after 3 years of abuse (inflating on the fly which would typically over inflate) and they replaced the set with a brand new set, they covered the repair costs at the harley shop as well... Anytime I stop and people walk over to see the bike, I would slam the bike and they would get a bit of a show, it's always a big hit, and we know how much us cvo owners like showing off... 8)

I agree, the bike looks bad a$$ when it's slammed down. I am very happy with installing them and I will enjoy riding any where.

Another view. You can really tell if you see it in person.

Can you ride with it all the way down or dose the tire rub? I ask because what if there is a leak or an air line breaks.
