How are our members and their families doing amidst the Tornadoes and severe weather currently and over the past several days?

Thoughts are with you!

Sent from my boring Droid phone.

Had a fair sized tornado about a half mile north of my house on the evening of the 22nd.  Probably a half mile wide.  Did some damage along its track but as it passed close to me I watched it standing outside dry and in dead calm air.  I think this tornado was metric so probably not a half mile wide though.  More like 3/4 kilometers wide.

Metric Global Warming no doubt.

Was up all night watching the news that night. Got family all around the Dayton area. All good though. My heart goes out to the effected people...

House went up for sale next to us a month ago and was bought quite quickly.  The new owner introduced himself as Noah.  I asked his last name and he just said Noah.

He's been getting lots of deliveries lately from Home Depot and sometimes Lowes.  He has a LOT of strange pets too.  I just can't put my finger on what's going on and asked him what he was doing in his fenced in back yard.  He said that he was just building a new deck.

So that explains it, all is now cool here!  Other than it's been raining tons.  The Mississippi is said to be cresting late Monday or Tuesday next week.  They expect it to hit 46', about 16' above flood stage.  That's only 3.5' short of the "great" flood of '93.

Since '93, which was considered a 500 year flood, there were two or three more 100 year floods in the '00s.  Man time sure does fly by fast... :)

I thought we were okay, but this Noah guy has me thinking a little...  :2vrolijk_21:

Ft. Gibson Dam in Oklahoma. It's about 10 miles from the house and was releasing about 255,000 cubic ft a second when that pic was taken. Around 7.5 gallon of water in a cubic ft

The rivers those 2 dams feed come together just north of the house. We are lucky our elevation is high enough to not have to worry about water but several that I work with have water 4-6' in their houses. They are saying that this is covering the 100 year floor plain. Going to be a trying time for some in the area. We have been lucky, our biggest problem is roads being closed. My wifes 15 minute trip to work takes about and hour and half due to the way she has to go.

This was about 5 miles south of the house by water. Pretty tense piont of time for the areas downstream of the lock

Water is going down pretty quick here, but the water that was sent downstream has caused lots of issues in Ft Smith and Little Rock Ar. I guess it will continue to cause problems all the way to the Mississippi
