Great job on putting this site together!  I've 'lurked' around and found this to be a great source of information.

I'm a long time rider, first time CVO owner.  I can't believe I own a bike with a dashboard!

I'm Charles, and I'm currently deployed to Iraq.  I'm a contractor supporting the US Marines at Al Asad, Iraq--in the heart of the Anbar Province.  I've been here since December 2005, and hope to leave sometime early March 2007.

I heard of the new and improved HD models back in July. After much research, I knew one of the Ultras were being built for me.  I had to work through my daughter in the states to make the deal for me, but after working through several unique obstacles, I can now say I am an owner of an 2007 FLHTCUSE2, 'smurf-colored'. According to an official HD Brake Certification (required for Japan registration), my bike has a manufacture date of September 11, 2006-neat...

One thing I'm not too happy about is the horsepower reported on this certificate.  This certificate, from a Market Compliance and Vehicle Identification Specialist at HD Customer Service, reports the horsepower rating as 87hp@4000rpm.  I'm a bigger fan of torque, but still disappointed in this reported hp.

I normally live/work in Okinawa, Japan, supporting the USMC IIIMEF. When I leave here, I'll have to go through the states and make arrangements to ship my bike to Okinawa.

Thanks for all the info posted on this site.

The last 6 of my VIN: 952081

Charles welcome onboard to this fantastic site and hopefully you comeback to Japan soon and then enjoy your new scooter..... [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif], Meanwhile have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Jorge

PS I don't know if Okinawa is close to Fukoshima...I met the HOG director of that chapter and rode with him the Posse Rallys 2004 & 2005

You have someone stationed at Camp Lejeune? I spent some time there with 2/2 '77 - '78.

Well, I have to go back through LeJeune to turn all my gear back in, and complete other processing.  I'm a contractor, working for General Dynamics, supporting Military Intel systems. We have an office on Camp LeJeune, with about 20 techs working from there.

So, I know folks, civilians as well as Marines, at LeJeune, but none who were there during that great era.

I'm former Navy, and spent most of my active duty time at a Communications site in Okinawa--NSGA Hanza.

What did you do for the Marines?

Awesome.  I helped support 7TH COMM during a 2005 UFL exercise in Korea.  There are a couple systems we support for those guys.  I normally work out of Camp Hansen, with the Intel BN.  I've worked on Camps Courtney, Foster, Kinser and Schwab.  We deploy (obviously) when they do.  I usually get to Korea at least once a year.  I've been with these guys to Thailand a couple times--man I miss those days.

Hey Charles, welcome aboard.  You'll find this site a great source of information and ideas on how to spend those hard earned $$$$$$.  Good luck and can't wait to see photos of your new smurf.
