Title: 04 ultra classic-primary cover

I just purchased this 04 and the primary was scratched pretty bad, so I bought a new one off e-bay, since I put the new one on it seems the starter is dragging, and it won't start, does anyone know of something I should have checked before installing this cover? thanks

Welcome to the site,

You'll need to remove the cover and check and inspect the bushing inside where the starter drive runs. It sounds like its got a bad bushing or a burr thats dragging the starter down.

Welcome and I would think it would be an excellent time to replace the inner primary while you have it open, Don't just go half the way when you can go all out.  :mango:
