Title: Extending the Sena Freewire Cable to mount in Tour Pack
Post by: mgardner on February 19, 2018, 02:10:35 PM
Howdy all.  I've had a Sena freewire for some time now and love it.  Only thing I don't like is mounting it on the handlebar.  I'm going to relocate it to the tour pack but need to extend the cable.  Has anyone torn into the cable to see how tough it would be to solder in extensions.  Not sure if the coiled cable will stretch enough to make the trip, and before I start hacking into the cable I thought I would see if anyone had already tried this.  I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron and have all the requisite heat shrink to make it work.

Thanks for any input.  Take care all.

Rather than hack the cable.  Use an extension cable.

I would be more inclined to splice into the cabling on the bike side of it so as you can keep all the wiring hidden.
