Battery Dead on #3 heat cycle ride. At the bar no less.

Limped home, backfiring, no lights or dim, and had my Rose at my back door.

On my way to procure a new battery.

It just won't stop here, trust that!!

I think I may have to stop reading your posts as they are mostly depressing!
I also think I need to upgrade my anti-virus program so your bad luck can not get through to me here Down Under!
I really need to be reading how much better it goes now & how you can't get that grin off your face.
As for your battery it could well be past its use by date as mine was some 6 months ago. Yours having not a great deal of use the last 6 months & now this new higher compression to deal with it stands to reason it could well be time for a fresh one.

Yes Aussie, I do recall.

So, I replaced the battery this evening. (I also picked up some OCD passing lights and brackets for the SERK !) After testing the battery, loading a full charge, installing the old battery and doing a heat cycle of 25 minutes, I threw on the old meter and VIOLA! I needed to spend more money. What a shock to my budget, huh?

Anyway, installed battery works great. No warning lights, no EFI failure and back fires.....Works great.

Back to the party....Yeah....

It is my own fault by not replacing the battery....ever. I do have a battery tender on the SERK, but me thinks I will do a custom jobber like Aussie and hard wire in a second battery tender plug for easy access. Then I will try to start a new memory process: remember to use the battery tender when I switch bikes, go away....etc.

All's well in the break-in stage so far. Two more heat cycles to go and then it's all the way up to 3000 RPMs.

Glad to hear things are looking up.  Patience.  I've always said that.  That's all I've really done with patience.  Continued good luck with your ride, hope your troubles are behind you.
