Friend of mine having issues with a 89" evo. The only thing he was told about the cam in the bike is that it is .615 lift. Can anyone out there reply with the possibilities of who may have made a cam with this lift?

Best to pull the cam cover and look, as that way no guessing in regards to what component parts. :2vrolijk_21:

Told him to pop the cam cover also...he seems to be going by what the past owner says (and doesn't sound sure). Slippery slope there I'm afraid. Claims it is a Woods cam with .615 lift. Can't find such animal on his web sight. Claims it runs great and pulls hard to 7 GRAND! When I asked why he revs it so high he told me thats what strokers like! I think the problem is valve float...he bent 2 push rods. I'm out of this one. Not taking correct steps I'm afraid.

Large lift cams spooled off to high rpms, NEED a good spring.
Bob Wood never had/has a .615" lift cam in his plethora of cams.
BTW, spinning an engine beyond the point where the dyno chart "curls", is a waste of time.

The only Evo cam that I know of with a .615 lift is a Leinweber E8. But that was designed for drag bikes. Wouldn't be worth crap in a street bike.
