Title: FLH Saddlebags on FXR anyone do it?
Post by: ltank on August 19, 2015, 09:12:42 AM
My leather saddlebags have not stood the test of time and weather even though they are Quick Release Easy Brackets. FXRT bags are too expensive. I have seen pics of FXR bikes with FLH Shovelhead bags but I had no way to contact them. I bought a old set of Shovelhead bags that need some repairs and paint that I can work with. Now I need advise or pointers or tips. Thanks

Yea, I saw that. He used Easy Brackets. I have a set of Shovelhead bags that need a little repair. I never knew how much paint cost!
I spent about 225 for paint!  Screaming Yellow Pearl Paint. .004"
Holographic Metal Flakes. Smallest I could find.

I'm just going down the posts here checking out the other FXR2/3/4s.  I thought I would show what mine looked like with bags.  Sorry for bumping an old thread.

All Stock Nice. Customizing our Bike makes them Personal.  We get the to our liking or taste.  This is what makes us Happier and the Aftermarket people in Business. I'd everyone 's  Bike was the Same what would be the Fun in that. We enjoy our Bikes even more after we make changes.  We may not like other's changes but OH Well.
To each his own. What I ended up with is My Version of a Bagger.
It will out Run and Handle most other Baggers.

I have 14-inch t-bars on it now too.  I also removed the chrome strip between the gauges and the seat.  I make a few changes every now and then to keep things interesting.  I just swapped out the shocks for some progressive 444s last week.
