Title: CVO RG Handle Bars 2016
Post by: Tut on December 13, 2015, 11:02:57 PM
I'm looking to replace my 2012 CVO Ultra with a 2016 CVO Limited. My concern is the cooling system "Water". Has there been any issues with the cooling system (or any other problems I should know about before I make the decision?

I have 15,000+ miles with no issues.

The first year bikes had plenty of issues with leaks and assorted stuff, but I haven't heard of many issues on subsequent years.

A few minor recalls in 2014 and nothing afte that.

If I recall correctly it was thermostat housings that "dripped". (That's the only recall I recall for the cooling system)

Other recalls was break wiring under the tank and clutch issues.

Should be all sorted out now.

No problems on my previous 2015, 6,700 mile cross country trip in September. Only 900 miles on my 2016

I was hesitant to jump because of the water issues also, Tut.  I was perfectly happy with my '12 SESG.  The '14 water heads had some issues as others have stated but nothing so far on the '15 or '16 twin cooled scooters water related that is.  I made the mistake of riding a '15 SERGU.  Except for me going from the bat to the shark, the other changes (and the ride....dang that baby rides great) won me over to swap my '12.  If you haven't ridden a '15 or '16 Limited, the ride alone will sell you in my opinion.  I'm still wary on the twin cooling but so far no issues on mine.
