Title: Dropped New Bike Today
Post by: ltank on September 29, 2017, 11:28:37 PM
I got in some loose sand today. The bike was not damaged that I can tell so far. I tried my best to not dropping it. I used as much leverage with fancy foot work. I had a passers-by get my bike up for me. My left upper front thigh muscles are killing me. I barely got the bike home riding 25 miles. I may go to hospital tomorrow if no improvement in morning.  This Sucks.  I just finished the bike. I put 94,000 miles on FXR4  have just over 900 on 98 Road King. I was too Pissed off and in too much pain to take any pictures. Thus Sucks!

About 1000 miles in with my new CVO Streetglide I was running late getting home (shocker) and stopped for gas, put down my kickstand but didn’t realize the stand sprung back up and dropped the bike in front of God and everyone at the gas station.
Sorry you are hurting but glad your bike is ok.

It happens...  The older we get, the heavier these bikes seem to get!  I find myself riding the FXR more than the SEUC around town.  It's so much easier in traffic and parking lots...

The best thing is that you will be OK and remember it could always be much worse. The bike is a machine and fixed if nessesary. I'm glad you can get on here and write about it. .  Stuart.

Hope you're feeling better, and thankfully it wasn't worse.

Most times I figure the pride is hurt the most, but the truth is - most of us have done it, some more than once...

I remember vividly dumping my '05 SEEG on the left side on a GRAVEL driveway (too much front brake, I guess), then 2 weeks later while on a road trip I dumped it on the right side!  >:(

Both were at slow speeds so only the bike and my pride was hurt.  Thankfully I have a great painter and two weeks after the trip, all was good and no one but I remember it.

I can't tell you how many I've heard that have dropped their bike at slow speeds, while washing it, or even getting off, walking away and THEN remembering the kickstand.  :o

I figure there are 2 types of riders - those who have dropped their bike, and those who will or are lying about it!  ;D

Again, glad it wasn't worse, and I hope you feel better soon.

Grizzly, or those that realize they are too old to hold up a Hog, and ride a trike like ME... :2vrolijk_21:

Hope you feel better real soon... :pumpkin:
