Title: Year 2002 FLHRSEI heads
Post by: SAUSAGE on November 21, 2003, 01:58:51 PM
Hello:

I am new to this site.

Did the Red and Purple year 2002 FLHRSEI 1550 Road Kings come with the Screaming Eagle factory installed heads?

If so, are the heads the HTCC variant?

If not, are the heads standard 88 cubic inch heads?

Respectfully.  Sausage.

To the frist part of your question No, as for the rest of your question I'm not sure. I had mine cut flowed at a very respected shop. (the cost of screamin eagle and the performance of them vs working the one's on it was much to my advantage) Plus of course a Commander II was needed.

Hey SAUSAGE

Well I was wondering the same thing. I recently picked up my 02 SERK. I wrote down the part number for my heads 16723-99 FRONT and 16725-99 REAR and called my dealer. The heads on the 02 95 C.I. SERK are stock TC-88 heads. The Service Tech at my H-D dealer told me that if I wanted a little more bottom end and compression. (Ours according to my owners manuel is 9.25-1)  I should go with the Screamin Eagle performance heads Part #16953-99B, raising the compression to 10-1 he said that if I wanted the HTCC heads it would require different pistons although the book does not say that.

The HTCC heads that I have looked at have a porosity problem.
It is not evident that the Motor Company has addressed this problem satisfactorily.
The stock heads can be worked and give you tremendous boosts in performance......and save you a ton o' money.
Take a look at this thread and it may shed some light on this discussion.
