Had a great days 130ml round trip ride to Warwick Castle a thousand year old castle in Warwickshire. Walking the grounds, took in an old jousting match and wondered the great rooms in the castle
This place has some major history back to 914

There's been some modern refurbishment and thru the ages,.....back in the day they were real craftsmen built things to last a millennium and then some.
All in all its faired quite well considering it was a focus point in the war of the roses that lasted for 100 years. The place had been under numerous attacks and set on fire but it survived.

Good to preserve history, that one is in great shape. Fun to see history from 1,000 years ago still standing.
We saw some of that in Germany this summer, a lot of the preservation work had been done in the 1800s since the French burned/destroyed a lot of the castles, etc. in the 1600s. The Germans still seemed somewhat upset about it, but they had gotten over it. Mostly.

Longlast, thank you very much for taking us on a walk through your family Homestead:) Great Pic's :) On of the great things about living in Europe is being able to see/experience such wonderful places from history.

Cheers Steve,
And your right it is great to see/experience such places especially (for me anyway) the places that have in the most part survived dating back in the three figures.
Your side of the pond has some great places I'd love to see. I've been to West Keys back in the 80s loved it.
