Title: 2019 Bike production numbers by color ?
Post by: AJDR^ on October 12, 2019, 04:54:41 PM
Curious if anyone was able to get the production records for the CVO RG for 2019 by color ?

Will probably call Harley on Monday on another topic (PTT functionality for intercom via Sena bluetooth across different riders vs between rider and passenger. PTT didnt work between bikes using right hand controls but did work if push each Sena jog dial)

Thought I would ask the group if someone was already able to secure the info

PTT only works if you have a CB. You can pair the Sena with other Sena headsets. Their are many YouTube videos on pairing to use the intercom feature of the headset.

Thx cvosjoe - Thats the conclusion we came to as well - no issues getting the sena's to talk to each other, just wouldnt work using PTT on either bike. Would have preferred to use the PTT button instead of reaching up to the helmet mounted unit to activate. Although revzilla had a bar mounted sena activation unit for $90, but dont want to go that route

Talked to Harley CS this AM. The 2019 production numbers havent been issued yet - they think around mid-Nov. So still have a few weeks yet until available.

FYI - regarding the PTT functionality across bikes on the Sena units, their technical support indicated that the PTT button to initiate a Intercom conversation should work - vs having to press the jog dial on the Sena unit. They recommended updating the software version for both the 20S and 30K units which is available on their website under the 'Owner' and 'Wireless Connectivity' links.

Havent tried that yet and probably wont be able to in the upcoming weeks due to schedule conflicts

So thats the latest

Thanks for the update  -   I was wondering if they were out yet....    No idea why it takes them so long to release them!

I called Harley back today and was told the numbers would not be available this year, what a joke. 3 times, 3 different answers, why am I not surprised?

Im sure if you call again, you can get a 4th answer.  Harley's left hand does not talk to its right hand.  But its usually closer to the end of the following model year they release numbers, like about August.

I called last Monday as well on several topics - what version of oil pump does my specific engine have, the final production numbers by color, and any details on the mid year CVO RG in sand dune. Could not provide any details immediately on the phone, but committed to sending me an email with information. Havent received anything yet, maybe give them another week, then will try calling again. She did say someone else just called a couple days ago asking for the same final production numbers.....

By the way, a local dealer indicated that you could get a 'birth certificate' on the specific bike. I was interested in seeing what that was, but the sales manager ended up leaving and it fell through the cracks. Forgot to ask HD Cust Service about that. Guess it is not that common, cost was like $35 or something according to the dealer

A buddy of mine called in the other day and was given these numbers.

Not sure if those totals are including the Cali bikes or not. If so, Cali got more than their share of RP bikes. lol

Spoke with the Mothership today and got the following production numbers for the US 2019 CVO
Mako Shark Fade 995 and 116 for California
Red Pepper 490 and 54 for California
Silver 840 and 94 for California
If you own a Red Pepper CVO you are in the minority even though Mako Shark Fade is the best color comination LOL

Thanks for sharing those stats. I know it says US production, did they say anything about rest of world (ROW) units produced ?

BTW, never heard a peep from Harley customer service back in January even though she committed she would.....

I copied his info from the RG site so I'm guessing He didn't ask about the international models. Good thing though, if they now have the numbers available, you should be able to get that info from the person you had reached out to.

Well that is more than the 500 Harley said they were producing of the Red Pepper.  Seems they have cut back production of CVO bikes though.  I'm think not because Harley wants to make them more limited like they claim, but because they are not selling as well at 41K.

Last week, the GM at my dealership said Harley has stopped production of all CVO models. Reason was, there are way to many of them in dealerships around the world.

I would be very surprised if that is true.  I agree there are many unsold right now due to its not riding season for much of the country.  I would think come spring sales will pick up a little.

That said, I can see where plain CVO Paint jobs are creating an issue selling 40K bikes when the Road Glide special at 30K has 3 really nice paint jobs with RDS.

I TOTALLY agree with Dave’s thoughts!!!CVO bikes should have special paint jobs!!

So far (that I've noticed) plain bikes that might as well be a regular or special edition color (I personally wouldn't go that far even) are:

White bike
Grey Bike
Wineberry Bike

Somebody delete their post? I don't see the original post of those numbers (if they are even accurate anyway)?
