Well never thought i'd say or do this, but Suzanne and I have sold the bikes. I'm retiring and we're moving from Commie-Mexa-fornia to Idaho. We really will miss all the rides and seeing all our friends we made over the last 20 year's. But hopefully we can visit on FB and we will try to come to a few rides by
cage. I've loved this site and everyone on here. One of the biggest things that made us decide is my Bee sting allergies, and after two shoulder replacements I've really last a lot of strength in my arms. And Roger's accident I realize it could happen to anyone, BUT as good a rider as he was and to me where he's at today breakes my heart. He was and still is a very close friend. Suzanne ( Bandanagirl ) & I just want to thank all of you for your friendship & hope it continues.

I have great respect for you in making this decision.
You are the only one that knows when the time is right.
Idaho has many wonderful day rides in a car or on a bike.
We try to zig zag the state every year, it's right next door.

I was so glad you two made it to ES a few years ago. Absolutely loved you guys. Not having a bike is irrelevant to the rest that goes on.
And on to a very proper coincidence; Idaho? When does the move actually happen. My map is still missing Idaho. Been on a bike in all the other US states (except Hawaii), several Mexican states and all the bordering Canadian provinces. But have somehow always missed Idaho. May have just come up with the best excuse possible to ride to Idaho!
Best of luck and least possible frustrations with everything that goes in to moving. Be well and have a heluva good time.

Don and Suzanne, I know it was a hard decision to make in selling off the bikes. I have been facing the same am I too old to be riding on 2 wheels. My mind still wants to ride/travel on the bike but, the body, health, and those crazy cage drivers make be think hard. I hope maybe to get a nice convertible and drive to the GTG's. I have enjoyed meeting y'all and meeting up at the GTG's. I pray we can hook up down the road and enjoy the reunion. As Roy Rogers used to say " Happy Trails Until We Meet Again".

Sorry to hear this. I know it's tough. I remember when mom & dad had to stop riding. that time will come for ALL of us at some point. enjoy the new journey. you don't have to be on a m/c to participate with this bunch. you got lots of friends & memories here.

Don, while you and Suzanne won't be riding any more I sure hope you guys will stay active on the site which has been instrumental in meeting new friends who share a common interest. I'm so glad J. Carolyn and I have had several opportunities to be with you both and especially recall the Ouray, CO, get together. We often remark what a wonderful positive influence motorcycling and the forum have been to us for many years. Best wishes for your relocation and perhaps we'll be up your way someday. We've ridden in Idaho many times and it is a wonderful state.

We all should be so lucky or aware to know when it's time. More than a few friends over the past few years have made the same decision. Not easy sometimes but we know when we know.
Best of luck, you can enjoy the travel and camaraderie from 4 wheels and if it rains you can just roll up the windows.

Very sorry to hear you guys are giving up riding but you’re the ones who know it’s time. I consider you good friends and always will. You’ve met many great friends through riding and you will always cherish those friendships. I will probably have to make the decision as well in the not too distant future. It’s too bad that all good things must come to an end. Just like the Western GTGs. Seems to be a thing of the past now. I’m through Idaho a fair amount so will try to hook up. Best of luck and stay safe.

Don and Suzie I am happy and sad for you both. Congratulations on Retirement and the move. But sad that knowing our time or riding will be coming to an end. I have thought about giving it up many times. I have not been riding for over 7 months. And I really don't miss it. I am too busy being Dad and Grand Dad. I wish you both the best of luck in your new venture.

I can't believe you sold that Jack Daniels bike without telling me. There is no way I could have bought it, but I sure could have raised Susan's blood pressure for a few days by telling her I was thinking about it. :D

Terry and I understand and respect your decision. At our age we found our interests are more into kayaking and 4X4 overlanding. Hopefully our trails will cross someday. :trailer:
