Is the hydraulic clutch that big a deal? I rode an ‘11 with it, it was fine. I have an ‘01 with cable and it doesn’t bother me.

Wonder if that’s a mistake, website shows stretched bags on 2 of the 3 CVORG’s, but that color doesn’t have them...strange.  Will probably be available in the P&A catalog for a measly $1,500

I wondered about the standard saddlebag too, but have seen at least one dealer pic in that color without stretched bags

The stretch bags help a ton with the look of the bike.  I think it helps make the cvo rg custom special.   I prefer a hydraulic clutch.  Another upgrade that made it special.  I thought it was a great idea when all standard touring bikes went to the hydraulic clutch. Every year it seems less for more to me.  I'll keep my 19 mako.  :nixweiss:

I'm anxious to see the Black & Orange combo in person and to here the difference with the Rockford Fosgate setup.

Doubt it. Harley just got a lower price contract switching to them.
It all about how much they can pay to the shareholders.

I never thought of Rockford as anything but a competitive low end of anything. I'm sure if hd is using their stuff it's because it's good for them. Just saying.     Stuart

Good catch. No more hyd clutch on anything it appears. It looks like the ext bags only come on the "specials".  Next time I visit the HD shop I will ask.

Rockford is trash. Looks good on the bike but barely a step up from Boom sound wise

I agree.  My last 7 Harley's have been Hydraulic clutch, this is a big step back in my opinion.

Press release states the CVO RG gets new bags, not stretched.  I think its only the black hole with out stretch bags that paint looks good with out them.  The other two would not.  That said I think all CVO should be stretch bag, including Limiteds, they look better.

Is Rockford an upgrade???  :nixweiss:Stuart

Thats what the launch said an upgrade.  I will be curious to hear the new amp and speakers to see if its any better.  I am thinking it will be very similar to what is in the 19 or 20

Plus they went from BoomII's (Harmon Kardon) 1 amp per pair of speaks, to Rockford Fosgate's 1 amp for 4 speaks...   More $$$ saved.

The more I think about it, the angrier I feel. Going away from the hydraulic clutch to me is going backwards.  Not fair to the cvo owners. A cable clutch is not an upgrade. Neither is their choice of stereo equipment. Rockford might be a downgrade as to what they had. Want to upgrade?? Call Pete at soundz customz.    Stuart.

I know in  a couple weeks someone on here will be so impressed with the sound but I've had some RF and never had any luck what so ever. It was all crap. So that coupled with lack of Hydraulic clutch makes it undesirable.

I saw two of the CVO Road Glides out in the sun yesterday.  The Black Hole and the Sunset Orange and Sunset Black fade, they look really good.

Black Hole does not have stretch bags.  It does have flush mount gas cap.  Graphics look very good on it.  Several people looking at it and it sold.

Sunset Orange and Sunset Black Fade has quite a bit of flake in the paint, in the orange, in the silver and in the black, almost a red flake in the black, really looks good.  Orange looks more red than orange in my opinion.  This one does have stretch bags, but has a raised gas cap.  The orange on rocker boxes has flake in it, a nice touch.  This bike also sold.

The Rims look pretty good.  Interesting way of doing spokes.  They look better in person than on the web site.

Yes, but only with FM radio as the source.  Sounded good.  However to really know you would have to have a 18, 19 or 20 CVO road glide parked next to it.  Then use very high bit rate mp3 or such to compare side by side.  I think it may sound a little better.

Key will be will the speakers actually last and not blow all the time like old system.  Nice the amp is not in bag where it can overheat on a hot day when you have bag full of luggage.

Don't know for sure but do not think so.

Saw one of these at a local dealer today. As usual it was much better looking in person and the first one I've seen in person. The Bronze accents are everywhere on this one, including all of the Kahuna accessories, from the heated grips to the floor boards, pegs, fork lowers and push rod tubes.

The wheels are really cool up close and I'm thinking that the spokes could all but disappear while going down the road. Could be a really cool effect. A little tough to clean maybe?!?

I’m looking forward to seeing them all in person... Not thinking cleaning those spokes would be fun either..

Pretty sure they did that on the 18+ with the 21 up front. Some suspension manufacturers said their front setup wouldn't work on those bikes because of it.

The CVO RG uses different internals for the front suspension, I think 1” lower but not 100% sure. I can say they handle very good with the 21” on the front.
I know Legend makes a replacement front suspension for the CVO RGs. It’s specific to the bike with the 21” front wheel.

You are correct.  The front suspension on the CVO RG with the 21 is 1" lower than the rest of the touring bikes.  This is to keep Trail and Rack the same with the taller front wheel.  Its what I also had to do to my Fatboy when I put a 21 on it many years ago.

Yes, to the best of my Knowledge legends is the only company making a front cartridge kit for the RG with the 21.

The CVO RG with the 21 handles very similar to the other CVO's with the 19" including my CVO King.  I have almost 70k mile ridding CVO RG's with the 21.

Is the hydraulic clutch that big a deal? I rode an ‘11 with it, it was fine. I have an ‘01 with cable and it doesn’t bother me.
Not a big deal but I do prefer the feel of my hydro compared to my 21's cable

While it’s not a CVO the blacked-out RGS in Billiard Red/Vivid Black looks great (IMHO).  Now if they’d swap the Billiard Red for Racing Orange, it would take every fiber of my being (or just my wife) to stop me from buying one!

I'd be All over it if it were Orange!
I would probably buy a 2021 CVO Streetglide Or Roadglide if the "Sunset Orange" was not actually red.

Not sure it is a big deal unless you want to change your bars to more than 12". The new CVO Road glide I am told can only take 12" bar change without changing the clutch cable. :-X
