Snoozefest. No 131. Just a barely warmed over 2020. Which was a warmed over 2019. Which was a warmed over 2018. Horrid paint. Purple??? Really??? Fake chrome paint. Again?? The collapse continues and accelerates ....

Sales will determine the wisdom of the current strategy and marketing. Pretty confident that when the HOG 4th QTR and 2020 Annual Financials are released on Feb 2, they are going to be shocking. HD shipped 214,000 motorcycles worldwide in 2019. Which was down -6.5% from 2018. HD Revenue was down -8.0% in 2019 vs 2018.

2020 shipments have been dramatically worse so far. By 3rd Qtr 2020 they were down -28% vs the prior year to 124,000 motorcycles shipped. HD full year 2020 motorcycle shipments are on-track to be down to around 160,000 motorcycles, down about -28 to -30% for the full year 2020 vs 2019.

The trend of massive losses in motorcycle sales is unsustainable without some type of massive change such as a corporate take-over or buy-out. My prediction - 2021 is the year that the new CEO and CFO strip the costs out of the company and prepare it for sale by either the end of 2021 or sometime in 2022. That's why there is so little innovation or technology investments in the recent model releases.

Unfortunately US Marketshare has also plummeted from almost 60% several years ago to almost 40% of the US heavy motorcycle sales. My guess is HD slides down into the mid-30's % Market share during 2021, as alternative products from competitors continue to eat away at HD's once dominant position in Touring and Cruising motorcycles. Sad but true.

Interesting reveal yesterday. As I watched I thought it was cool that they let the employees talk about the CVOs. I understand them reading the teleprompt. A lot to remember. The CEO sounded serious enough. Glad to see them bringing back the chrome. I still don't like most of the colors but someone will, that is why they do it. For me the biggest + this year is the downsizing of models. Thank God! There were way too many different variances of models. A waste in my opinion. You just need a couple in each category and go make it your own. Still hanging on to my 13'.

Unfortunately, my predictions above were just about spot for HD’s 2020 performance as a business. Harley’s business is collapsing as sales units in 4Q 2020 plummeted by -48% vs 4Q 2019, and a crushing -32% crash for all of 2020 to 164,000 motorcycles shipped.

The company stopped paying their dividend. This company is unlikely to be a standalone company by the end of 2022.

Sad but true! HOG has also cut cost and is hard to justify the membership fee. The 2021 patch looks like a throw back to AMF days and the pin is the plainest I have seen. It would be crazy if some one like Polaris buys them!

I don't believe you'll have any problems... they should be willing/wanting to make a deal. Can't wait to see pics. :2vrolijk_21:

Regarding the dividend:  02/02/2021,  Harley-Davidson (NYSE:HOG) declares $0.15/share quarterly dividend, 650% increase from prior dividend of $0.02.

And a 60% reduction from the $0.38 Dividend last year before it was cut to $.02.

Just imagine your $1000 income was cut to $50 then increased to $400. That’s what HD did with their Div over the last year.

I’m not much on Purple but the Royal Purple/Royal Black Fade REALLY looks good to me!  Am I just crazy or does anyone else like that bike?

If you like it, that’s all that matters. Too much chrome for me!
