Title: Dad’s Bike
Post by: Steve777 on February 16, 2021, 11:45:44 PM
Hi my name is Steve, and I’m a new Harley addict lol

My Dad was a Rockstar, literally...he passed from terminal cancer recently and I bought his bike from him after he got too weak to ride it so it would stay in the family. It’s kind of a family heirloom that was part of his identity.

I honestly thought it wouldn’t be my thing, abs just end up a pretty thing under a cover in my garage that I pull out when my brothers come over abs we want to remember Dad.

But it turns out that I fell madly in love with the bike and riding it...I have a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet with 1100 whp that was my go to toy, now I find myself getting on the bike more than the Porsche.

I Chromed all but a few of the missing chrome section on the engine and tranny...got saddle bags and Corbin seat for it though I kept the seat the same alligator skin style that my Dad had on there.

He had the lighting kit on it already.

It’s 2013 CVO Breakout with a 110 ci motor with a Stage 2 Screaming Eagle kit and is begging for a bit more power.

Below are some pics of the bike and my Dad.

Sorry for your loss.

Glad to hear you're carrying on your Dad's tradition of cruising on a great looking bike!   :2vrolijk_21:

Take care & ride safe,
Mike

PS - Your Dad reminds me (especially in the pic with the tall black hat) of another rock star we lost in the last few years - Leon Russell

Looks like he might of forgot a part that could be chrome..... never mind it was just the camera angle  8).  Nice you can enjoy your fathers memory like that.  Ride safe!!!

Haha there was about 4 or 5 pieces he hadn’t gotten to yet. I put the the tappet on there and the cylinder base is on back order with Kuryakun but I’ll have it at the end of March...along with the transmission cover that goes behind the oil lines.

If you guys see anything that can be chromed that I missed abs there is a part for it please let me know though 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Needs new tires so I’m researching that...I need tires with good grip and handling and am not concerned with longevity in the tire.

I also want to go from the 110 stage 2 to something that will land me at about 135 whp and torque in a street friendly power curve and that I can still use all those chrome bits with.

So any suggestions on that stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Forum advice from real enthusiasts is usually the best advice

Welcome from Norway. Great looking bike you got there. Couldn't help noticing you said you are living in Orange County. My bike, a Candy Brandywine 2002 CVO Road King was originally sold new at Orange County Harley in Irvine.
