Title: Performance changes and California laws
Post by: FELIX on June 19, 2021, 04:18:29 PM
Something that I've been wondering about, it won't change my decision to make the changes to my bike but if somebody's remove the cat and you don't live in California but you're visiting what could the legal ramifications be??

Especially if you're in the San Francisco are they just shoot you.  On the spot.  Dead.  Then they shoot you one more time just to be spiteful.

Only after they defecate on your motorcycle.

Shooting you is bad enough.  But crapping on your bike is rude.

I think if you have an out of state registered bike you will be okay.  Arizona and Nevada allow for tinting of front passenger and driver windows and California does not.  I haven't heard of anyone from AZ or NV getting window tint tickets.  But I could be wrong.

That's one of the first things to go when you live in California.   :P

And now that I no longer live in California and have moved to Ariz. when I visit in my car or truck all of my windows (including the driver's window and passenger door window) are blacked out along with a very large tint strip across the top of the front windshield.....no front license plate, either.

By the way, I was just kidding.  I don't think they'll really shoot you (or crap on your bike).

Haha, it had me laughing.  I ride southern California enough that I've seen a lot over the years. Nothing would surprise anymore in this world.

Typically noise will get you in trouble before anything else. Some cities in southern California are a real pain about it.
Laguna Beach even has signs posted. Just keep mellow in these areas and you'll be fine.

I've always been under the impression that your vehicle modifications follow your state laws. At least that's what I've been told by LEOS. I got pulled over in NJ years ago for no front plate on my Ohio vehicle which required it at the time. When I lived in Florida and came home to Ohio with dark tinted front windows I got pulled over for it but not ticketed due to my FL plates. Similar situation in TX a long time ago. I'm starting to think state troopers seem to like to talk to me. Here's hoping next week's vacation is trouble free.

Texas State LEO stopped me questioning about the lack of tag on.my trailer. Once he saw the Oklahoma tag on the truck all was good and he sent me on my way. I now tag my trailers in Oklahoma even though not required to
