Guys I just purchased a new 08 springer. My question is where can I get a mud flap for the front fender? I believe my 08 fender is wider than the o7. Thanks for any help.
-
Mud flaps go on trucks :o :o But you can look in the HD parts book and find one i think i saw one there... By the way us springer owners avoid muddy roads :2vrolijk_21: welcome to the site...
-
And gravel roads ;D
-
yea, mud flaps, check the buell dual purpose section of you dealer, never heard of such a thing!
-
The MOCO has little "fender extensions" for the narrow fender like on my 2007 FXSTSSE but I haven't seen one for your bigger fender. And you other kids quit teasing about mud flaps!!! I put the extension on mine because I was sick of cleaning chit off the front of the engine! Besides - it was chrome dammit !! At least it didn't have Yosemite Sam holding 2 guns and saying "Back OFF !"
-
Mudflaps? we don't need no stinkin mud flaps....
-
Funny beerman! You know thats all we can picture in our heads is Yosemite Same with two pistols!
-
Sorry about the word " mudflap" I am worried about stone chips because the frame is painted. Harley put that hole in the center of the fender on the bottom so I am sure they make something or at least will? Thanks for the respones.

beerman I see you are in Akron. I live in Canton Ohio.
-
08springer and beerman I live in Broadview Hts next spring/summer will all have to get together for a cvo ride.
-
Strawdog, sounds good. Isnt there a quacker stake and lube wing restuarant by you? They are building a brand new one here in Canton. I think they will have tons of bikes this summer.
-
Yes in Valley View on Wednesday's. Good time but gets very packed. If your ok with crouds and a ton of bikes you'll love it.

After 7 months of blissful retirement, I am back in the Beer Business as the State Manager for HighFalls Brewing ( Genesee, Honey Brown, JW Dundee ) for Ohio and KY. Thus, we need to go somewhere that is featuring my beers so I can buy and expense!!
I live in Tallamadge so I'm halfway between you two. Scorchers are good accounts for me or the Wing Warehouse chain in Akron as well. I'll find a few more for sure.
I like the Doug Out in Richfield on 176 and 303 for wings on Sunday ( watched the Browns for the first half there yesterday. Cheap chicken and Cheap Beer what a combination !! Always can count on BWW's of course. 3 CVO Springers would make a great picture wouldn't it?

Beerman that sounds great 3 CVO Springers would look pretty cool in the parking lot. All the places you mentioned sound great and all pretty close buy. The Doug Out is pretty cool I stop in on occasion plus it's right up the road from me. As far as beer I can drink Genny for a day. One of my buddy's is a salesman for Coor's out near Tiffin he always gets my friends and I some great deals. Funny thing though is most of us all drink Bud/Bud Light when were all out and if we order something Bud he gets so upset and says we just use him for free beer. We like to mess with him and just say yeah your right!
-
Tell your Tiffin buddy your swapping emails with the Ex-Coors guy, Brad Sutter and see if he knows me - then tell him to start selling some JW Dundee Honey Brown because I have a bike to pay for!
-
Brad, Yes he knows you, Mike Kancler is his name he works for Klepper's says your a wild man and to be ready for a good time. I told him I am truely blessed, now I know 2 beer guys!
-
Make it 4 in Northeastern Ohio. I just got my Flaming Orange Springer 2 months ago. I'm in Akron. See you guys out there.

Sounds great RPR50 the more the merrier! :2vrolijk_21:
-
RPR50, where did you buy your bike?

There are two models available:
Chrome Front Fender Extension
Dress your front fender in chrome. This chrome-plated tapered Fender Extension is shaped to follow the curve of the fender for style and function. Using the Original Equipment fender hole, the extension mounts below the trailing edge of the fender to help control road dirt and spray.
59664-03
Fits '91-'07 Dyna® and '84-'07 FX Softail® models. (Will not fit FXD, FXDX or FXDXT models equipped with Voltage Regulator Covers.)
MSRP US $42.95
HERE I WONDER WHY YHIS MODEL DOESN'T FIT '08 MODELS? IS THE FENDER DIFFERENT IN 'O8 THAN IN '07?
-
Narrow Front Fender Mud Flap
Finish your narrow front fender with a splash of black and chrome. This black mud flap is formed to the fender contour for superior fit, and the rigid construction helps control road debris to keep your frame and engine clean. Styled chrome mount with Bar & Shield logo utilizes Original Equipment fender hole for no-drill installation.
59217-03
IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY Contact dealer for pricing and availability.
Fits '95-later FX Softail® models, and '95-later Dyna® models. (Will not fit FXD, FXDX or FXDXT models equipped with Voltage Regulator Covers.)
MSRP US $69.95

They are chrome!!! I like the second one over the first one for some reason. But they both are not that bad for "front fender chrome extenders" or mud flaps!
-
The hole was in my 89 and 96 Springer front fender. I do not recall fender extensions back then. Funny, I can just imagine what the Design Engineers were saying to each other. Hey! Lets make this fender a few inches shorter. Then we can design a fender extension. Willie G will think we are brilliant. We can tell him it was a Green Belt project. We'll all get a big fat raises. :orange:

Well, I did it. I traded the FXSTSSE in on a new 2008 Street Glide that the dealer in Akron had dressed up with alot of extra stuff.
the Springer is gone as of this morning but I still have a Sundowner seat, a Sissy bar off a 2007 Softail Custom that fit, a headlight trim ring, a custom solo seat in Tan natural leather, and a set of Kuryakyn heal rests for the stock front pegs?
Like to get about 1/2 price off new or a little less
email me at bsutter@highfalls.com for info or just call - if you're semi local I'll just meet you and buy you a beer as well !!

Brad, Sorry to hear the 110 didn't work out for you. Congratulations on the trade. I think you'll like the SG platform.
You work at Highfalls? Ever get to Rochester on the bike? When you're passing through Buffalo let me know.

Brad sorry to hear about the trade but the SG is an awesome bike my father in law has one and loves it. Best of luck with it and will still have to get together in the spring for a ride and a beer.
-
I know this will sound wierd to most guys but I just didn't get a "warm fuzzy" feeling from this bike that I've had with my other harleys. I felt deep down inside that it was going to bite me about a week after it went out of warranty. I kept my 1997 Softail and bought the Street Glide with FXSTSSE money. I'm already feeling better. Hard to explain. I'll post pictures after I get her done in a few months
And yes, the beer is still on!! Genny, Honey Brown taste great whatever I'm riding !
