Thought I'd post a few pictures from today. I'll go back and edit once we get home. Here's our track from today.

We were in the middle of Deliverance country...........but these guys could really play.
-
Brasstown, Clay's Corner
-
This sign was outside the store at Brasstown/Clay's Corner. Really says it all. It is SO beautiful up here.
-
They're really uptown in Brasstown. See the similarity to Hollywood?
-
Check out the bumper sticker on the front of Chief's scooter. We got a bunch of them from Brasstown/Clay's Corner. Chief is doing the best he can to fully accessorize the Jester. ;D ;D
-
AJ, checkin' out a Chubby..... ;D ;D
-
The reason I took this picture was to send it to my boss, so she'd know there really is a place for her to retire that is very fitting for her. :P
-
.
-
Cheri, and she does have her cup. She never goes anywhere without it. Needless to say, she's happy.
-
Here's a shot of all three flavors of 06 SEUC. That Watermelon is my favorite! :)
-
Here are a few more taken today:
-
.
-
.
-
Ken is wondering why anyone would want that, there ain't a tour pack! Where do you put your beer? :nixweiss:
-
AJ wants know which button to push.
I'm wondering how Jerry rides so well without hands.
-
Oh, that's what that button does.
-
Wow! You can sure see Terry is one guy that understands technical stuff.
-
And this knob does WHAT?
-
Hey guys, watch when I push this.
-
Y'all gotta see this.
-
OOPS, I don't think I should have twisted that.
-
This is where I should move to:
-
A bandage for bike boo boos.
-
Great pics !
Nice to see the friends of the site !
Thanks
Jacques

Renea checkin' out Lot 53

Lot 50
-
Wow! You can sure see Terry is one guy that understands technical stuff.
TC, please put a couple thicknesses of heat shrink or something around those u-bolts on your handlebars. That's enough to make me cry seeing that squished up metal to chrome.
-
Since Renea and I were lot shopping this morning, we're leaving a little later than everyone else. Terry, Suzanne, Renea and I are getting ready to head out to Dahlonega to scout HWY 60 and the Smith House. We'll have more scouting info and pictures this evening. Have a Great Sunday everyone......we will. :)
-
Mi ami Reggab...thanks for the pictures....you guys had a good time :2vrolijk_21:
Jorge

Dave
Dave,
I'll find out and get back with you. There's plenty of them though.............plenty!!!! The one's we're looking at are wooded. We're done with treeless lots for this lifetime. :)
-
Are you guys buying lots down there?
Thanks for sharing the pics though.
;)
We're considering it, Candy. Thanks.
-
Here's today's route. Terry, Suzanne, Renea and I scouted Highway 60 to Dahlonega. Wonderful piece of highway. Lots of sweeping turns. Pictures will follow. We met up with everyone else in Helen, then headed back to CHL via GA HWY 180. That road is VERY technical!!!!!!!!!! Had a blast. I'm sure all of you know that Terry is a great rider. I got a schoolin' from him today, that will stick with me forever. I really love how we can learn so much from each other. This has been a great trip. The rides were awesome; the stops were awesome; the food was awesome; and best of all, we have the greatest friends in the world....................
YOU :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:
On to some pix.
-
My lovely bride at the Smith House in Dahlonega.
-
Folks, the Smith House is some good eats!!!! I highly recommend this place as a food stop when we come back for the GTG next year. Renea was too busy slammin' that chicken leg to smile. We were SO stuffed that we contemplated a nap in a rockin' chair before we continued on.
-
This is the sign in front of the Smith House.
-
The Smith House. My apologies for the angle. Best I could do from that vantage point.
-
HWY 60

Hwy 60
-
Really like it up here. These mountains are beautiful.............and there's a speed limit sign..................summarily ignored! :P
-
I was following a B&O Jester today! MAN can that guy ride!!!!!! Sparks flying, leaning!!!!! Nothing but a streak of black and orange. He must change floorboards like I do my underwear!!!!!Hours later I catch up to him, at a bar of course....And it's Hogbreath!!That guy must be a pro!! Howie who??
-
NO! Wait a minuite that wasn't Hogbreath it was AJ. Man can he ride!
-
Either way they both should be at the top of the "A" riders list!
-
NO! Wait a minuite that wasn't Hogbreath it was AJ. Man can he ride!
If it was AJ then he has a huge hole in his head where Sassie has beat it while yelling....SLOW DOWN YOU S O B....
gotta love messing with AJ.
-
Great photos! Looks like you guys had a fantastic time. Wish we could've been there with y'all. Next time, hopefully! xoxoxo

Nice barn roof and trees on the mountain behind this homestead...
-
Can't remember the name of this lake along Wayah Rd, but it shure was purdy...
-
.
-
The colors were spectacular in many places along this route...
-
One of the many tight curves on Wayah...
-
Looks like a baby Possum hitched a ride back to Birmingham from Clay's Corner... :D :D
That's it for now...video will have to be edited after downloading...
Great time, great friends, and great places...nothing more to ask for in life than that!!

I'll do my best to not duplicate. Here's a picture of the stone above the fireplace. Is it a Honda or a Harley?
-
A bench in front of the lodge. What great accomodations! Great job Chief and AJ!! Thanks guys.
-
Here at Clay's possum pit, you can get a VSR movie rental, a new set of store bought teeth, an oil change, a pocket knife, and fill up with gas, ALL while they cook your dinner over an open pit. Now that's a convenience store!
-
A rest stop at a state park. How purdy.
-
Martha loaned me her fuzzy neck warmer one cold morning. If they just made this in black to match my village people get-up............

Good Gosh...It's after 10! I'll post more pictures another time. It was a great weekend! Great friends! I'd like to move to N. Georgia. I'd fit right in.

Wheres Martha & Craig been hiding. :nixweiss: Have not seen much of them on this trip. :-\

Some really nice CVO ladies!
-
A fuel stop at clay's possum pit.
-
Wheres Martha & Craig been hiding. :nixweiss: Have not seen much of them on this trip. :-\
Yup, Craig and Martha was there.
-
AJ kept telling everyone he was hot. I told him he wasn't butt ugly, BUT..He sure wasn't hot. I think even Sassy agrees with me.
-
Jerry and J. Carolyn (spell check). We had the pleasure of hanging out with them yesterday. What a great couple! Some people talk about riding..THEY ride!
-
.
-
That little button on the side of the seat is a defroster??
-
Everywhere I looked, there was a little possum.
-
Backside of the sign in front of the lodge. What a great place to stay! I'll definately be there again!
-
Mahota on her way into Civilization.
-
What a couple of great guys! Seems that everytime we get a chance to meet and ride again, the friendships just get stronger.
-
I think this place was called Two Wheel Inn? They have maybe 3-4 rooms above the store, and a campground out back. How cool is that. Seems like this entire area caters to bikers. What's not to like?
-
I decided to get in behind Chief and try and keep up. He's just about to leave me.
-
I caught up some on the straight aways.
-
These bicyclists were FLYING down these mountains. That would be fun, but I'd need an oxygen tank to get up the backside of the mountain.
-
I, Susan, Do solemenly swear Ken is hotter than AJ.
-
Somewhere in Georgia. Or North Carolina. Or was it Tennessee? I never knew where I was.
-
.
-
I'd tore my bike up trying to keep up with Chief. In the hard twisties I scraped a floorboard. JD thought it was "SO COOL", but my heart skipped a few beats. You can see here, I'd gone to the back of the pack. Evidently when the floorboards scraped, it messed up the steering. It would NOT corner right!!
-
.
-
Good friends forever!!
-
We stopped in Helen Ga for lunch. A couple bottles of BudLight, and my steering was fine again. Maybe the power steering fluid got hot.
-
What a GREAT couple!!! I learn something new from this guy everytime we talk or meet.
Terry, man, I'm really sorry about your four legged best friend! I know that was tough! I truly believe you guys will meet up again someday!
-
Last one. Man! What an awesome trip!!!
-
Great pictures HB, I love the narration! Thanks for posting... :cherry:
-
Great job bot Henry and Ken. The narrations are priceless.
:indian_chief:
-
Looks like you guys had the absolutely best weather for this time of year for this event. We were very sorry to not be able to join you. Thanks so much for sharing the experience with the rest of us.
-
YAY!! The pics and commentary rock Ken and Henry! Awesome...
All I can say is the CopperHead lodge was a fanTAstic place to stay! The place was so biker friendly and they bent over backwards to enhance our experience! I didn't want to leave the fun and the family and we well definitely be back. (if it was up to ME we wouldn't have left yesterday!)
Thanks to Chief for all the beautiful rides!! It was a twistie curvies heaven. (scraping floorboards or not!) :P
-
Great pics Ken and even better narration! :2vrolijk_21:
Sorry to have missed this one. We miss you guys!

I'm thinking a poll to decide this:
AJ Hottest: Yes O
No: O
Ken Hottest Yes: O
No: O

First of all, what a great time we had! Anytime you have the opportunity to get together with friends in a great place and have great rides, how could you not? Thanks to everyone involved. We can't wait until we have the chance to repeat!
Here's a picture of all of the CVO's in a row at the BBQ stop on Saturday.

Here's a picture of the outside deck area at Copperhead Lodge. It was a bit cool on this trip, but it would be a great spot to eat on a cool summer evening!

One of the spectacular views from Brasstown Bald! The journey to the top was an incredible ride and the views from the top were just a bonus! I just can't say enough great things about how incredible the roads are in this part of the country.
-
Here's kristina, framing the spectacular views from the top of Brasstown Bald.
-
A little beverage break to help Ken get over his steering problems on the Jester. Helen is a pretty little town with a lot of character (lots of traffic too).
-
AJ, Jerry, J. Carolyn and Cheri were doing their part too!
-
This little guy was travelling lap style with a fellow Harley rider we met in Helen.

Martha and I had a great time with all of you folks once again. It was great to see all of you again and of course the chance to meet a few new faces as well. Thanks to everyone that helped put this unofficial event together. The rides were great, the food was great and the friendships that develop through these events are priceless! We can't wait to do it all over again.

I second everything you've said about CHL. They really wanted to do everything they could to make everything work out for us.
Thanks for the kind words about the routes. I was a lot of fun introducing you all to our 'backyard'. We need to do it again when we all have time.

Great pics! Was great seeing you and Martha again. Also, thanks for bringing your very awesome friends Kristina and Lewis! They were so much fun and hope they make attending some future GTG's a "must do"!
I had a really hard time this morning since I didn't hear your alarm btw!! :P
(and I LOVE my new camera!)
Great times, great people, great rides....I say we all put going back to CHL on our Christmas lists!! :huepfenlol2:

Sorry about the alarm clock and tell Ken, even more sorry about the snoring! LOL
As for the Christmas List, it's already on mine! Maybe the New Years Eve Party??? Don't know about the cold, but for sure, CHL is on my next year's agenda! Maybe Spring, summer, fall, or even all of those options! Sure was a great place, but being with all of you guys made it what it really was, special!

Jerry and J. Carolyn (spell check). We had the pleasure of hanging out with them yesterday. What a great couple! Some people talk about riding..THEY ride!
I agree with that, a couple of real troopers. :2vrolijk_21:
-
Damn Jerry, I am sorry to hear about the jester farting out again. And of course I would dare mention what you said Saturday night about I should not be concerned about the 110 and I should go ahead and take the 08 white one when it comes in. ;) ;D ;D ;D

Ken you keep grinding them boards trying to keep up with the a team, your luck is going to run out, ask Jerry. :o
-
Ilene and I had a great time and really enjoyed spending time with everyone again. Thanks to everyone for sharing the pics and giving us the opportunity to relive the weekend. There are still plenty of roads here in North Georgia to explore so ya'll come back soon, ya hear? We're looking forward to the next one!

I got home tonight and this was setting in the garage. I simply mentioned it to Cheri, and she had it delivered today. How can you not love a woman like that? I'm a really lucky man.

The truth is..I was hanging out with Jerry at the HD shop for far too long. Too much time eyeing these bikes. All the way home I begged and pleaded with Cheri. I promised to get the garbage disposal wired, the gas logs working, and several other chores I've been putting off for a year or two.

TC hasn't seen this yet. You've got no idea what the list will be :huepfenlol2: !
Ok, time to dish a little. What was the attraction for this one? The blacked out look? Just the go-fast-ness of it? What did you love (besides wanting to have something extra fun for me to play on at the next BBQ)?

Good lord that's right. You can't have a V-Rod Ken. There's no place to put your beer :o ??? !

I knew you were in trouble when you test drove Jorge's SEVRod in HS! Have fun with it and best of luck. :2vrolijk_21:
You'll have a rough time explaining that this one is for her comfort and safety though! ::)
Ride it awhile and you'll find that your SEUC will need some motor work soon. Your SEUC is about to start feeling a little slower now! But I'm glad I got a permanent loaner now, since I have as many miles on loaners/rentals this year as on my own! ;D

Gary..She has a twin...A younger sister...and an older sister. Take your pick, but, I've got to warn ya..I got the best one! Now...How can I get a wire to a garbage disposal through a solid wall? Where would I put the switch? I may end up laying under there cranking it everytime she needs it ran.
Henry..It sucks to be me eh?
Thanks Dave..I saw yours and Craig's at Maggie Valley... PURDY..Had to have one.

Oh well, probably good for the both of us you got the best one since I'm not trying to leave home. I'm sure you will find a way to get that garbage disposal working not like there is a lot of pressure on you now. ;D

Several things. I've been looking to buy something used to hotrod or customize. Something to just play with. Start with a plain bike of some sort...Pay what? $12-15K. Add 5K to the engine. 5K in accessories. Engine blows and add another $3K. Sell it two years later for $18K? NA..
I really loved Craig's yellow V-Rod..And Daves..and Jorges. Damn---beautiful. I've never seen Terry's. But those guys got me looking. Then this year they came out with this blacked out one. It just caught my eye. Just something to goof around on. Think I could keep it a couple of years, and trade it off and not hurt too badly. Esp since I'm keeping it bone stock, and adding no accessores. Well...besides the backrest..maybe a small windshield..
-

The REAL reason Ken had to get the new bike is because he ground the boards off his SEUC and it wouldn't turn anymore, right Ken? ;D
-
Tbone--Hahahaha yea..

That's right Howi... er. uh; Ken. You're not changing a thing. I understand completely :2vrolijk_21: .

And someone makes a kit to black out the rest of the exhaust...Add some pipes with just a little more rumble...OH..and a better air filter..a different seat..AND..A power commander..Trip to John Glden--HEY Don..You going to be home this weekend?
-
Ken
Cool bike!
This site has really cost you HUH?
Did I mention Craig and Martha had a 2 into 1 on theirs.
And a windshield,
And a backrest.
Go back to the original thinking on the SEUC.
The bike is just the down payment.
But, cool bike!
Congrats!

Good thread with lots of great pics. Spent many a lazy afternoon in Helen enjoying frosty cold German beverages. One of the groups we ride with is considering a long weekend at Copperhead Lodge. Checked it out once when we were in Blairsville. Will be in the Helen area again in May - looking forward to it.

About 40-50 (maybe more) of us will be in the Franklin area in late May for a 1%ers club ride. Only 2 CVO bikes in the group - my jester and an 07 SERK. Gets kinda busy with that many riders. Another group of couples (8-10) is considering the Copperhead trip - no date set yet.
Love riding in that area and the temps are good in late May also. Will keep ya posted.

Well, I've been downstairs trying to load the bike into the back of the truck with NO luck. Frustrated, I come back up & the phone is ringing. Cheri is on the line asking if I've seen the site tonight?
Well, Congratulations!!! :orange:
She is still on the phone w/ Sassy. I know we're in trouble now that Ken & I have gotten these two together!
Ken, does it turn right?
Best of luck with it buddy!

Busted.

Ken, congratulations buddy. That's really fast work. I saw that same bike a couple weeks ago at the Memphis store and thought it was real sharp. That'd be too much if we had matching bikes again! Guess great minds just think alike.
-
AJ, this one's for you. A new flavor to try out.

YUM!
-
Cheri says mmmm, mmmm, it's so good!
-
So Ken...my consulting fee is in the mail, right? ;D ;)
Nice bike, buddy. Break her in easy the first 50, then ride it like you stole it!! The Revo engine is tight, so it pays to run it up and then let the engine brake the bike...helps seat the rings. Get the dyno oil out after the first 100 or so miles.
You better hold on tight to those grips when you twist this thing, and be ready to shift, cause it gets there in a damn big hurry!!! Get that backrest for Cheri or you'll leave her sitting in the middle of the road.
I happen to know a place in Hot'Lanta with some black knuckled Bitubos that would look really trick on that bike... ;) ;) Good price too!!

And so it begins....... :drink: :huepfenlol2: :drink:

Hey AJ, if it continues to just bust your ass then let the air out of the back tires on the truck. You can always reinflate after it's loaded.
-
Thanks Dave..I saw yours and Craig's at Maggie Valley... PURDY..Had to have one
You mean Helen and Martha's :confused5:
I don't know about Martha but I am taking mine back over I got home and started riding doing much better now and I take the Motorman class in dec.

Fee? As long as you accept ribs for payment.
Engine braking seats the rings...didn't know that...do now. Dealer says not over 4,000 RPM for first 500 miles..As long as I'm paying you--which exhaust?

I didn't say Helen and Martha's???? oops..I knew better

Like you said Ken, we learn something new here everyday! (I didn't know that either)
-
AJ???? What are you doing up so early????
-
After an exhausting study and review I have determined that Ken needs a new garage to keep his chit in.
His garage is way to crowded. When he has that spring BAR-B-Q at the Hogbreath compound there needs to be a place for T/C, Tbone, Jerry, JR, MJZ, Craig, AJ, me, Deepsoutheagle, Wayne, Skippy, Otis, Dave, Spydyglide and a few others to park their bikes.
I know a good builder Ken.
But he's not cheap!
:2vrolijk_21:

Dang Ken, she's purdy. Pinkie!!! Ken's got a new bike. Come see it......
Congrats.

And I know you meant to say Cheri's V-Rod too! Congratulations on another awesome ride! It is truly an amazing machine. Love the black too! So which bike do I bring to the BBQ? Decisions, decisions!
All I can say is "This site is expensive!" (It's also the best money ever spent!)

Ribs work just fine... ;D ;)
Let me do a bit of research on the exhaust options that will look good on the Night Rod Special...you want a totally black exhaust system, right? I've seen some replacement slip ons, and some 2 into 1 that are black powder, but unsure of the brands off the top of my head. I think Kerker was one of them. I'll check it out today, if work doesn't have me covered up too badly.
Do the 500 miles as they say, but after a couple of hundred, spin it up to 5/6K every once in a while, then back off on the throttle completely, gear down, and let the motor brake the bike. The new ones have the slipper clutch, so downshifting from 2nd to 1st will not bark the rear tire any longer. Don't let it get below 2K while riding...2500 to 5000 is a good cruising rpm. At 5K, you'll be running close to 80 in 5th gear. It's smooooooth though. The V engines are built to a lot tighter tolerances than the air cooled, so it takes them longer to really get broken in well...about 4 or 5 thousand miles. Also, bike must be sitting up straight to check the oil level with the dipstick, NOT on the sidestand like our big bikes. Check me out in the owners manual about that, as they might have changed for 08, but I doubt it. Around town mileage will be in the low to mid 30's.
I like the black/silver combo!!
-
Thanks Terry,,,Think I'll start a new thread in the V-Rod part..even though this isn't a SE. And I'll quit hi-jacking this thread--LOL.

Thanks to everyone for sharing the pics. From Nashville, Tn its a short ride to such a beautiful area. I need to check out the Copperhead Lodge. How did the deep fried possum taste?
Congrats on the Night Rod Special Ken! You are a lucky man! A friend suggested the black, 2 into one, Thunderheader exhaust. I just dont know. Mine is still stock. It does need to be stood up to check the oil. It is a beast.

The truth is..I was hanging out with Jerry at the HD shop for far too long. Too much time eyeing these bikes. All the way home I begged and pleaded with Cheri. I promised to get the garbage disposal wired, the gas logs working, and several other chores I've been putting off for a year or two.
Ken, I'll drive half way cross country and fix those things for you if Cheri will buy me one too :2vrolijk_21:
lucky.......... :coolblue:

It ain't even close! But it is a perfect match to a Honda Goldwing yellow. The few times I've had it on, wingers start to wave then they realize it's a HD and drop their hand. ;D ;D It is UGLY with a capital U.
