Title: The Nanner transformation
Post by: RJ749 on November 28, 2007, 09:53:31 AM
I'm sure this won't end up as the next 2Ln  :cherry: disguised as a nanner but this cross country odyssey will be something I imagine.

To catch up from the 3rd party eBay buying thread on Sunday I got the winning bid and have been in touch with the seller since.

He's a police investigator and therefore I don't foresee any issues with the description of the bike or problems with the sale, title etc.

Chip, Silver-Black, is in the process of seeing about opening a hole in his schedule to go and pick it up as well as take it down to Traxxion along with his bike for the suspension mods.  If he pull this off I will be even more endebted to him than just getting the bike picked up will put me.

So as the time goes bye here I'll keep you updated on the progress of the bike's development along with its progress across the country. :bananarock: :bananarock:

Rog,

Great idea.  We can watch her "grow up" right before our eyes.  I'll also be interested in your transportation choices as I see a new pair of wheels in my garage in the near future. ;D

Ah, new wheels eh!

I am thinking Keyboard but I haven't started looking yet until Chip and I can figure out if he'll be able to get the bike and run it to Traxxion.

Vehicle Description

2005 Harley FLHTCSE 2   only 6,004 miles! Rare color I AM TOLD THAT ONLY 1000-1200 MADE IN THIS YELLOW IN 2005!! THIS COLOR TURNS HEADS!! YOU DO NOT SEE IT OFTEN.

SCREAMIN' EAGLE ELECTRA GLIDE DELIVERS TOURING MUSCLE-- 103 Stroker Twin Cam V-Twin Power; This bike is like no other!! My dad bought this bike new then spent a ton of extra money to make it the exceptional rare bike that it is. I bought the bike from him 6 months ago and now I regret that I am forced to sell it for financial reasons only. Here is a list of the extra items we added to this already customized bike.

Rinehart true dual exhaust with chrome billet end caps, screamin eagle breather and Harley Screamin Eagle race tuner to make it run perfect. All work was performed by my local Harley shop. Dyno tuned and I have the Dyno run sheets proving that this bike produces 94.6 Rear wheel Horsepower and 97.9 Torque!!The power is nice to have, but this bike has not been run hard! My dad is 60 years old and I am 39, and we are the only ones that have road this bike other than out certified Harley Tech.

It has the inner fairing mirrors that provide more visibility and a cleaner look. Color matched LED lid spoilers on the saddlebags and chopped tour pack. LED rear taillight chrome taillight visor and frenched looking front light rings.

Tour pack is included and shown on bike in pictures. please note that the windshield has been changed since the tourpack pic.

Chrome radio trim ring, engraved Harley Bar and Shield fuel door, short custom wind deflector and chrome billet windshield trim. Every bolt on the motor transmission, primary  and front brakes  have been replaced with polished stainless 12 point bolts over $500.00 worth of bolts!! I replaced the the handlebar harware with stainless button head bolts as well. The saddle bag latches were replaced with billet grooved for a clean look. Chrome covers on throttle cables. chrome  highway peg mounts with matching pegs.

I had Iron Braid hand braid the levers with black yellow and silver leather, no fringe!!

I had Dan Kite professionally pin stripe the flames on the inner fairing to match the rest of the factory custom paint.  A true custom look!! Very clean!!

The antenna on the bike is a solid stainless rigid mount 9 inches tall from e-glide goodies. The one on the Tour pack is is a black powder coated 6 inch. These antennas were $37.00 each. You would not believe the chrome on this bike!!! The gold CVO key and the garage door opener included have never been used.

Based on the injected FLHTCI Electra Glide Classic, the 2005 Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide is offered in Sunrise Yellow Pearl and Stingray Silver, the paint scheme includes a color-matched inner fairing panel, fairing lowers and fuel-tank console inserts. Lettering on the derby and timer covers is also color-matched. New for 2005 is a color-matched detachable chopped Tour-Pak equipped with interior light and carry-out liner.

Other features of the 2005 Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide include chrome Thunderstar wheels and chrome Thunderstar floating brake rotors, a new fender-mounted license plate bracket with integrated turn signal bar, a new air cleaner cover, a new push-button fuel door, and a newly-shaped seat with imprinted leather inserts..

The fuel-injected Screamin' Eagle 103 Stroker Twin Cam engine displaces 103 cubic inches (1690cc) and is the largest-displacement engine offered in a production Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The engine is hand-built using Screamin' Eagle big-bore cylinders and a stroker flywheel and rod assembly that combine to increase bore and stroke from 3.75 x 4.00 inches to 3.87 x 4.37 inches. Compression is bumped from 8.9:1 to 9.0:1. The engine is tuned to produce a 20 percent increase over the stock Twin Cam 88 engine. (even more with the performance upgrades on this one!!)

The Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide hugs the road on a Profile Low Rear Suspension kit and lowered front suspension. To handle the powerful engine, the drivetrain is upgraded with a high-performance hydraulically actuated clutch, an oil cooler with chrome cover, and a high-torque starter. Brake and clutch lines and the throttle cable housings are braided-and-coated stainless steel. Passenger and rider footboard inserts, handgrips, the brake pedal pad and the shifter pegs are all from the Stealth Collection by Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories. All gauges feature spun-aluminum faces. The traditional Harley-Davidson "batwing" touring fairing is topped with a low-profile smoked wind deflector. The custom leather seat is fitted with a rider backrest. A premium sound system with integrated amplifier and high-performance speakers, a security system, a garage door opener, a CVO indoor storage cover, and special CVO key are all standard on the 2005 Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide.

I'm reposting a couple of pics to this thread as several folks have missed the other one and asked about the recent acquisition.

Also, it looks like Chip may be able to get it picked up on Saturday, still pending CEO approval however.

I just recalled I have a VW meeting in January in Florida, Orlando.  Mmmm, maybe.....oh and thanks for all of the creative, inspired, expensive ideas everyone has.

Ernie, good idea, not sure at this point, I'm making a list and ch................ :xmas:

Neal, you may as well plan a winter break and fly down to get your miles on it too............. :divers009:

Chip, I truly appreciate the assistance but pulling 2Ln in on this could be a back breaker.................  :beatdeadhorse:

Roger

Can you send me a dealer tag?

 :o   :o   :o   :o   :o

That would make things easier.

Probably complicated for you but easier for me.

Then I can take Nancy up there on the SERG and she could ride one of them back.

I think lilbear is going so that would be an official CVO ride.

But I have to tell you,

Nancy and I were talking and she asked,

"Honey is it true that to test out a bike the best way is to crank it and then duct tape the throttle wide open.

And after 10 minutes if it's still running then it's probably a keeper."

She has such great ideas!

My response was "YEAH I've heard of that, want to try it on the nana and see if it works?"

She had a big smile on her face! ;D  So I'm thinking that meant yes!

As long as it's in fifth gear and she's ridin' it, she did mean duct tape her hand to the throttle, right :nixweiss:

If it doesn't have a tag, I assume he's keeping the personal plate, does your state have trip permits to move untagged vehicles?

Chip,
Roger's garage has to be getting full what say we keep that Nanner on the right coast if he wants it bad enough he'll come pick it up. Hell he owes us a trip over here since he got sick before MV06. We could take turns riding it so the battery doesn't go dead. You keep it for a month, then I get it for a month. What you think?? :nixweiss:

That is one wish I would never make, CVOers are the best friends a guy could ever ask for. :2vrolijk_21:

We may have to negotiate about rear tire wear though, Chip was saying something about how the side of his garage makes for a great place to put the front tire on burnouts :nixweiss:

PS:  The garage is getting a bit tight, I thought two garages that each hold at least three cars would be enough space, but that was before the snowblower and a few other additions.

dOOd

Roger who?  :nixweiss:

No seriously, I have narrowed it down to two plans.

Plan 1
Drop it off at your house for the winter. I saw some ice screws in the JC Whitney catalog that you screw into the back tire for traction. When you get tired of pulling assisting cars stuck in the snow then I will pick it up and take it to TC. He has that rep about rear tires and we can blame those burnouts snowouts you do on him. When he gets tired of abusing using it then I will take it to Hogbreath. We are negotiating the $'s now. I offered to deliver it for $1500 and he wants to pick it up for $1000.

Plan 2
Craig (lilbear) is going with me to pick it up. I have always thought a man needs a full dresser so I was going to swap his SERK for the nanar. I haven't discussed that with him yet but he's fairly easy going and besides Roger will probably never notice the difference.

On the R8 subject I still remember the 60 minutes segment on the Audi's so it's yours and I will keep the Mustang. What are friends for anyway?

PM the directions to your house and if the duct tape and guy wire holds I should be there with it after noon on Saturday. Unless Craig sees the light and agrees to plan 2.

I remain

Freedom of the press.  The interlock on all the newer cars anyone drives where you step on the brake to engage the transmission is a patent held by Audi for that exact reason.  You still see it happen on all kinds of cars from time to time but not one Audi since that story aired in the late 1980's ouch, isn't it 2007?

d00d, keep an eye out, just had a call from Chip and he and his co-pilot (lilbear)are being followed closely by a nanner.

He says he can't shake it so I imgagine if you are going to see it it will be in the near future.  Of course there is always the possibility that Chip won't want to chance loosing it to you so he may just head south to get as far away from you as he can.

Sounds like the bike is everything it was represented to be (maybe more). :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

If Mikey or Arcticdude are buys I'll get it the extended leg.

Roger, the yellow bikes are striking.  Definitely stand out machines.  Congrats on getting such a nice example.

Do I remember correctly that it really will go to Traxxion Dynamics before you have it brought west?  After experiencing that on the SEUC just can't be without it on the new ride?  If so I understand.  Whenever I get on another bike now they feel like badly sprung station wagons with no shocks in comparison to what we've gotten used to.

Congrats again.  Enjoy it a lot.

Hey Chip, lilbear et al, thanks for making the run up to pick up the bike and check it out.

It really, truly is appreciated.  Looks like blonds do have more fun, at least when on the yellow bike :2vrolijk_21:

Like B B says, it can be expensive on here, crap it cost me another bike :bananarock:

Don the Traxx addition is a must for sure, no way I would enjoy the bike without it as much as with it.  I guess I need to decide on the Progressives vs the Bitubo, from what folks here say that have them, it looks like the bitubos are worth it.

Hey Chip, under a hundred is under in my book, even if just a little under :huepfenlol2:

Thanks again for the effort and the pics too.

We just got in from the company Christmas party otherwise I would have been camped here waiting for your post on the return home.

Duane

Used two just to see the difference in route options.
The Quest 2 gave a more direct route and the other tried to get us to go different directions.
Both were set on British American language so it was funny when they would say the same thing at the same time.

And Roger, just an FYI, I kept an eye on the nana and even running a hundred it was stable.

Duane,

It was a good thing that Chip had two GPS units.  That one just kept trying to take us all over the place.  For a while, it tried to take us to Dood's place and the other one straightened it out and got us back on course (sorry Dood).  I guess a guy can never have too many GPS units or too much horsepower!  As for the tacky tag, I think Chip is getting a kickback from Garmin for blatent representation on this site! LOL!  It really was interesting to see the two units with identical settings trying to pick different routes.

Where the settings in both units set the same? IE: Quickest route, no U turns, no toll roads, etc.? The slightest difference on any of those settings will produce different routes. I've also got a direct connection to the satellites and I was trying my best to get that Nanner to my home. ;D

So here I sit, thinking about S-B's d00d list and ten reason to get stuff OK'd by whomever and I start looking at recent threads I haven't looked at.

Crap,

Flush mount axles, intercom, traxxion, progressives, LED lighting, HID lighting, locking doors, horns, seats, true duals, Tru trak, Sta-Bo's, GPS, Bluetooth .............on and on.

It sure is easy to forget these bikes are just starter kits when you are at the nearly finished end of ownership than at the beginning again.:-\

I just save you $750.00
It already has the true duals.
Can you send that money to Ken. That's his number!

They make some slip ons too, Ken...they will fit on the stock header pipes or V&H headers.

Back on topic - - - - - sorta

Seems there's a rumor on another thread that this bike really belongs to Chip but that Roger is covering for him till Nancy gets used to the idea of two other new bikes in the garage ( 01 SERG and 03 V-Rod)

Sooooooo, that being the case, I've got a proposal for Chip and Nancy.  I will quit my job, move to NC and care for all your motorcycles in exchange for room and board, and an occasional new pair of H-D jeans. As curator of the C & N  Harley Fleet, I get to ride any bike anywhere at any time for any reason. I get all expenses paid to any and all rallys you attend (to care for the bikes of course) and one two liter bottle of Maker's Mark per month.

sowhatdoyousayguysisitadeal ?

B B
:D :D :D  I tell you what.  There may be a few of us who'd like to be adopted by the C&N Harley Fleet couple.   :huepfenjump3: :bananarock:

Well it looks like the BiTubos and AK 20's will get installed sometime in the next week or so.  Traxxion has the BiTubos in stock now and Chip is getting lined up to take his bike down along with mine for the install.

Once Traxxion has it done I will be getting the shipping organized and the bike will be headed west.

Jonga has me all excited getting his  :cherry: finally.

Looks like the SEEG's hold a strong draw for the CVOHarley crowd. :bananarock: :2vrolijk_21:

Maybe I could start one of those "treasure hunts" the radio stations do from time to time.

Give out obscure clues and eventuall lead the victor to the spoils.

Clue 1#  It lies often at a State fair.

Now that the other house is done I may need a trip back there to get it.

Chip went out of his way "again" and hauled the Nanner down to Tbone's so Bob will be dropping it off to Traxxion in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks guys, hope I can return the favor one day.

Roj,

If you leave it with Bob through March, you guys could fly down here and join us for the weekend at Copperhead Lodge. You sure won't bge needing it up there by then.  :nixweiss:

:indian_chief:

You got the timing right, the weather here sucks big time and looks to remain the same.

May as well leave it to Sept. then he can attend two events on the east coast. :2vrolijk_21:

After that he'll be convinced to just leave it permanently on the east coast so he can attend all the events on this side of the country.

:bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock: We're rockin' today.

Forgot to forward my mobile to the house this AM and Cindy is tele commuting today so we slept in for a change getting up at 6:30 rather than 5:15......

6:35 AM ring........................ring.......................crap, whose calling at this hour?

Hi, this is Dan from Traxxion, your bike arrived yesterday. (pause, my mind catching up)

Hey Dan great to hear from you :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

What did you want to go with on the bike?

So, it is on the bench as I write this.  13" AK 20's and BiTubo rears.  Dan figures he'll have it done today!!!!!!

Now the pressure is on.  Arrange a truck for the ride west or leave it there for the Copperhead ride in late March?

You may or may not know that my wife got layed off in the Macys realignment, she works until early May and then she's done.  She's a bit concerned about it, I think she is more concerned about my spending so I may need to cut back on the extras, so it will impact my decision.

Decisions, decision.............................. :nixweiss:

It seems the logical thing to do HB.  Maybe I could add the Porsche Driving Experience in Birmingham...........I have a gift certificate to that.  On the other hand that would just add more time away (4 days with travel).  Check the track video
http://www.porschedriving.com/tracklap_hi.htm

I'll be checking flights this weekend and working on the schedule possibilities.

At least it would be a nice place to stay for the school, Renaissance Hotel at Ross Bridge Golf Resort.

Update:  Just checked, bummer it could have worked:
Performance - April 1-2, 2008, Sold Out Tuesday-Wednesday - Please call 888-204-7474 for Wait List

Traxxion conversion is complete and the dilemma now is shipping home or Copperhead Lodge in late March.

It was 57 degrees here yesterday and the call to ride is strong.  Got my True Track in the mail yesterday and my OCD is kicking in hard with Spring just around the corner.

Daytona will create a lot of east west shipping for bikes and I may be able to hitch a ride.  If that doesn't work out I most likely will try to leave the bike in GA until late March, otherwise I'll ship it home and look forward to Sedona I think.

Everytime I bring up a week in GA with Cindy, she reminds me she is unemployed in a couple of months.  No amount of grinding will change her attitude on recreational spending until she finds work.  Let's hope it's soon, I have plans to instigate.

Tell Cindy that it will get her mind of the job situation.
How many chances will you get Roger to meet us over here on the right coast?
Besides if Nancy sees you on the naner then she will finally believe it isn't mine and I'm just not hiding it till I can smooth it over with her. SEE, you would be helping me!

Seems like a no brainer to me!

That Tequila was Craig's.
It was that high dollar sipping chit that takes forever to take effect. I rated it "GS"  (good chit)
I have some suitable for shots that rated "DGS" (damn good chit)
I will bring that so we will have the Tequila bases covered.

That Tbone idea will not work.
Nancy already thinks I gave it to Bob to hid for a few months.
Work with me here Roger, work with me!
You coming to Copperhead is the best option for both of us.

There's a song..Tequila makes my clothes fall off.

I like Tequila, but, it's made me do some crazy things. If i'm drinking Tequila, I shouldnt be responsible for my own actions. It's one thing to get drunk, and another thing to get so drunk I am ashamed the next day.

Roger,

How many chances like this does a person get?  The bike is in the correct location and you are planning on shipping it one-way anyway, so take full advantage of the present location and get your butt to Copperhead!  If it's Crown you want, I'll bring it along!  Of course, I will be bringing Tequila as well. The bike is presently sitting a stone's throw away from some of the best riding this great country has to offer.  It has been fitted with the finest suspension components for riding in this fine location.  Only thing missing is ........  ROGER!  It would be a shame, no, a crime for you to pass on this opportunity.  It's almost like winning the lottery!  I guess we'll be seeing you at Copperhead huh?

In the wee hours of the morning 3 March, a large vehicle slid into Woodstock, Georgia with one objective in mind.

It was on a quest to abscond with a yellow motorcycle before anyone could get in its way.

Told that the crew was equipped with the latest stealth masking devices for a Kenworth, they were successful in locating and acquiring the target.  Within minutes they swept into the world headquarters of Traxxion and whisked the Nanner away.

At this writing the whereabouts of the motorcycle or the stealth Kenworth are unknow to this writer. :nixweiss:

Unfortunately with Cindy's office closing down in the Macy's re-org I was having a d00d moment in the explaining department.  A moment that continued for a couple of weeks each time I brought it up.  So, discretion being the better part of valor, I took the path of least resistance.

Take the heat here or at home. :nixweiss:

I got the bike over to Traxxion this afternoon and left it with Dan.  It might be a good idea to give him a ring tomorrow to touch base.  The keys, etc are in the tourpak and the cover is in the right saddle bag.

Talk to you soon,

OK gang, it's a good news/bad news day in the Great Northwest.

First the good news is the Nanner will be here tomorrow...............the bad news is the dispatcher for HogHaulers (Debbie) called in a panic today and spoke to my GM.

It seems that when they got to the base in Portland there was a truck coming north so they were putting the nanner on that truck.

As I understand it when they undid the tension on one of the tie downs..................snap :nixweiss:

Evidently it took out the side of a saddlebag, leaving a big scratch.  She's devastated (me not so much).

Sure I'm disappointed, but I can't let the mishap spoil th excitement of getting the bike here.

Thank goodness it was a bag and not the tank or something.  So I'll be ordering a bag evidently :(

For now it just matches the SEUC with the Nelson scratch somebody put in it. :bananarock:

Keep well,

Mind you, this is just my $0.02, but were I you, and the damage is only on the surface (nothing broken through the ABS) I'd be more inclined to take the bag to a quality painter and have it repaired so the color match is perfect. Ordering a new bag from the MoCo could give you something a shade darker. You're talking a 3 year old vehicle that has to have some effect of sun etc on the paint color. Maybe only a 1/10th of a shade lighter, but nonetheless noticeable if you buy a brand new bag. Anyway, I am sorry to hear this as I remember when you bought the bike I was really impressed with the overall condition.

Just my $0.02 as I said.

Point taken B B.  I thought about my yellow Donzi and how well it held up to the sun.  I think I'll most likely get a complete bag and lid so they match and if it is off from sun fading, I can alway go for the painter.

Paint by Gene is right down the road and he is really good.

I haven't seen the scratch, so when the bike arrives I'll check it out and make a plan.

Bob, thanks for your assist on this, CHL would have been a great add to the Nanner travels but it wasn't to be this time.  I can always hide the scratch with Don's fugly guards
He's got those ugly (to me) saddlebag guards on it.

Brian, I will get some more pics and ride thoughts.  I think with the Traxxion 13" mods on both the should be pretty similar, although the nanner will be minus some weight with all the adds on the SEUC I guess.  Regardless, I am looking forward to a dry day and putting some miles on it.

Congrats Roger Glad to see it's finally made it's way to you . Your painter should be able to fix that using a touch up kit, wet sanding, some clear coat and buffing.  Way less than I expected. Please let us know when you've had a chance to ride it how it performs, especially the Traxion Dynamics/Bitubo upgrades.

And you know this is something Chip and I have been talking about. Recent purchases of used Screamin Eagle CVO model H-D's by members of this site with one or two ponies already in the stable. I love the CVO bikes as does Chip and well, pretty much everyone on the site which is why it exists. As a matter of circumstance, I don't currently have one which is ironic because I was the 1st one in my group of friends and co-riders to own one and have owned four. We'll fix that soon. But anyway, the point that Chip and I were discussing is how it's great that these wonderful machines are being bought up by CVO site members who will maintain them with pride and affection and as such, 20 years from now there will still be many prime examples of these machines. So hopefully we'll see this trend continue with some more SERG purchases here on the site, some SEEG purchases and of course the V-Rods, Fatboys, Dynas, FXR's and the multitalented Road Kings. As the d00derator would say " It's All Good "

I agree with you on the CVO trend.  I was pushed to get a SEEG after being around them in Cripple Creek and Nelson this past year.  The SEEG's really grow on you especially if you hadn't seen many of them previously.

In Bellingham we just don't get more than a couple a year and consequently I never paid much attention to them.  Then I got on here and made some rides and WOW, they are hot.

As you know I considered a RG before I bought the SEEG to add with my switchblade and SEUC.  I still have an eye for a RG too, but one bike a year is more than enough to toy with IMO.  I'll be plenty busy with the nanner to keep my mind occupied for awhile.

I am currently blessed with the opportunity to have a few toys so I'll absolutely make the most of it while I can.

I'll get some miles on the nanner soon and report back as well.

They were truly upset about it.  I have moved a great number of cars with them all nearly or more than $100k and never had a problem.  It was bound to happen sooner or later.  Actually kind of glad it was my ride and not a customer's.

After they picked up the bike they deceided to swap it to a different truck when they got to Portland.  The more times they change trucks the bigger the chance of a problem.

It'll be fine, like you say, no down time for riding.  Especially with three bikes.

Roger, since I've met you it means even more to me, but you have the absolutely best attitude.  Taking it in stride - so to speak.  You bought the bike months ago, it has been passed to a couple of folks we know here before being put on a truck to get a couple of transport handlers to move it from this truck to that truck.  This bike has more miles - figuratively speaking - being towed than it ever had being self propelled down the road.  You are a great guy and I am glad to know you. I would have been p1ssing and moaning about this.  I am proud again to know you.

Thank you for the kind words Candy.

When I first met Cindy she had a pistol of an attitude and would get upset at many things.

One day I told here a story I had heard somewhere, maybe philosophy class or who knows?  Many of us have heard it, it goes like this:

Think of a problem as floating in a river and you are on a bridge over the river.

If the problem is above the bridge and floating toward you, you have time to plan, impact and solve the problem.

If it has floated under the bridge you may be able to react to it quickly and solve it, but if it has floated beyond the bridge and is going down the river, most likely it is gone and most anything you do won't help.

In the case of the scratch, it was way down the river.  No point in wasting any energy on it at that point.

Again, I really appreciate your words and friendship.  No one could have had a better attitude than you at Nelson and on your trip home.

I'll be looking for a big hug when we get to Sedona, see you there :2vrolijk_21:

Damn Roger, Traxion Dynamics front end, Bitubo rear shocks, True Track ; that Banana's gonna handle like one of those Porsche's you sell.
Are you going with the complete Street Glide piece that has the built in extensions that cover your saddlebag gaps AND the nice chrome piece that goes over the LED at the bottom ? That'll be a sweet lookin ride Roger

Getting ready for the spring weather and decided to put a new battery in the nanner.

While doing that I came across some touch up paint in one of the bags, so I worked on the transportation damage a bit.  Got rid of the black scratches pretty much, light compound will eliminate any of the edges that are left.

CarBrite glaze and a rag, not much pressure and I managed to clean up the mishap pretty good for now.  Stll more work needed to fill the big mark that is actually a small chunk out of the bag.  But here's the first run that didn't take more than a few minutes.

From owner notes:  Chrome radio trim ring, engraved Harley Bar and Shield fuel door, short custom wind deflector and chrome billet windshield trim.

I had Iron Braid hand braid the levers with black yellow and silver leather,

Maybe it does have a couple of things I won't need to add. :huepfenlol2:  :bananarock:

I think Roger's Banana is a good example of what a steal a quality used SEEG can be. Go back to the first couple of posts on this thread and print the list of items that the bike came with new, add to that list, all of the things we've pointed out here. Take out an H-D Parts and Accessories Catalogue and put a price beside everything. Make sure you factor in the 103 motor and trick paint. What you end up with is a 2005 Electra-Glide with about $25,000 worth of accessories and upgrades. Basically Roger paid for this stuff and got the bike free   :P  Ok, that's a bit of twisted logic, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that a solid low mileage 04, 05, 06 Screamin Eagle 103 Electra-Glide is one of the best buys out there for a Used Harley-Davidson.

                     ALSO

The prices folks are paying for 00 and 01 SERGs are a really good buy with the caveat that I am skeptical of this group being happy with the 00, 01 95" locomotive motor as well as a few other things.   BUT, when you stop and think of buying an 00 or 01 SERG for $12,500 -$13,000 and then investing $12k on top of that, you end up with a hell of a motorcycle for $25,000

Two different ways to spend $25,000 and have $40,000 value.

It really is a good way to get a great bike and in my case I kinda lucked out.

Holy crap Batman :batman: was the seat on my SEUC as big a piece of crap as the SEEG seat.

No not that the seat is bad, it just won't work with my A$$.

I still don't have license plate (tomorrow) but I ran the bike down the street without it to my storage building where I had Mugnam, Naitram and Free's bikes stored for the Nelson ride. We're planning on setting up the Featherlite with the Condor's for the run to Sedona and we wanted to get the bikes in one place to load the trailer and set the chocks.

Just that short run convinced me I am screwed again.  New seat in my future.

After getting my SEUC seat rebuilt I had forgotten just how cramped the sitting position is on a stock bike.  Maybe it's just me but I need to sit farther back in the seat than the stock seat allows.  So the Nanner is going to Seattle before Sedona for a seat rebuild.  Either that or it will be in Sedona with a SEUC seat.

Dang, as I recall that was not an inexpensive trip to Seattle the last time I made it either.  Oh, which was a week before Cripple Creek.  These GTG's are spendy enough without setting up a new bike for them.

Roger.  I had to replace the stock seat on my Nanner.  It was by far the worst motorcycle seat I have ever sat on.  Guys who have the 2004 and the 2005 say the seat on the 2004 is way better.  Go figure.  I bought the Harley Sundowner plain for a Road King and it looks pretty good.  It will get the true test on the way to Sedona but it's got to be better than he stock one.

The stock one just keeps me too far forward for my legs to make the angle with and comfort.  The rebuilt SEUC seat gets me lower and farther back.

It is much more comfortable, good luck with the Sundowner and with the ride down.

The best (by a mile) stock seat Harley-Davidson ever made is the one that came on the 2003 Screamin Eagle Road King. It is very comfortable. I don't know the part number, but if you can score one of these seats either new or used, you're golden AND, they fit the 04 and 05 SEEGs perfectly.

Agreed.  I've got three other seats for mine, and none are as comfortable as the stock one.  It fits my arse perfectly, better than a Corbin...better than a Mustang...

BB,

I know that this will pain you dearly...but yes, the stock one is more comfortable for me than the crocstrich seat from Alligator Bob.  Not better looking mind you, but more comfortable.  Something about that gel that just doesn't quite sit right for me on the long hauls...so I don't usually use it on the long hauls.

I got a cancellation at www.richscustomseats.com and I'll be there most of tomorrow reshaping the SEEG seat.

Installing the Clearview tonight and getting set up for Sedona.

Rog,
Agree with BB.  :2vrolijk_21:I bought and sold a Corbin...just didn't like the feeling of sitting on a rock all day. Have Mustang that's great with a BSR involved, but really love the stock SERK. I sold an extra one to Beags, and believe he's riding in on his SEEG. HD Part Number is 51293-03 and they were like $499. You can try out some SERK seats at Sedona, for a  :drink:  :bananarock:

I had the Mustang on the 03 Pseudo SE Road Glide and now have a new one on the 04 SEEG.

Have found it great even after 700 mile days.

Rich has a SERK and added a Dragon Fly fourth generation fairing this year.  Really nice quality and local painter did the matching

Mine turned out great and we did some peg adjusting and small adds, including brake/turn/run relay.

I'm lower with the new seat and since I had the 13 AK and Bi tubos done it helps as well as I am back a couple of inches and we eliminated the backrest as I am not making long runs on this bike other than two up.

We also added width to the BSR section and both rider and passenger have gel pads.

Rog,
I hope for your sake she doesn't read this  :o

It's ok to think of things like this for our sweeties, but heaven forbid we tell the world about it.

I told her.  While I was there a guy was getting his 105th Ultra done and he had to be low, low, low as he was vertically challenged.

Rich and I talked about the SEEG seat and making it similar and he pointed out that the SEEG is very different from the Ultra.

Well chit, I am already in trouble for making her buy a bike without an intercom, don't even bring up the heated seat so I told him the (within reason) give her a similar riding experience to the Ultra.

I don't think she's too concerned about the backfield spread since she's a size 4 or so.

But let's keep it to ourselves anyway.  I did get her a gel pad, nice guy that I am ::)
