For all of you that have asked, here are the pictures!
I can't believe Henry hasn't done this already.
This first one is the new couple who's name I can't remember.

Same group

Chip & Craig.
Chip if you wake me up tomorrow, Chuck is going to put Dixie Crystals in Nancy's tank.
-
Bob & Ileen ( I know I'm spelling that wrong, sorry)
-
Finally, Hogbreath & JesterDecor.
Good meal with GREAT friends!
Kickstands up at 9am (Chuck's 9 not mine ;D) for a 150 mile ride with lunch at a German restaurant in Helen.
BTW, Chuck's new trailer has been Baptised. He parked it under the deck right below where the kegs were. You guessed it, someone spilled beer on the top of it. It & the bike look beautiful. I'll post pix tomorrow.

It's been a great day riding.
I think we are up tp almost 500 miles.
A few 103 motor problems today with Mav's bike.
The plan for the group ride changed when Henry decided he wanted to go to Deals Gap.
Ken and Cherie and Mav and his S/O took off that way with Henry and Renae.
Ken called us while we were at the German restaurant and said Mav's bike had bent a few pushrods.
They are still not back yet so we don't know the whole story.
We rode the twisties all day and it was a pleasure following Chief.
On the way back we (me and Nancy) finally got to let em breathe a little. (Maggie Valley 06 style).
Vagabond had a little issue and layed his down with only a few scratches on the chrome.
AJ and Chief have left to go back to hot lanta. We are to meet them at the Smith house Saturday at lunch.
This is a great place, and we all miss Don and Mark.
Pictures to follow when we get home.
O yeah
My Zumo locked up at 54 mph and even the infamous electronics guru Craig couldn't fix it.
I screwed with it for a few hours and finally called Dr. Zumo.
got his voice mail and told my story and my Zumo got the fear instilled into it.
Dr Zumo (dOOd) was called and it decided to start working.
So some advice here, if your Zumo craps out, call Dr. Zumo and the mere mention of his name will fix the problem.
Thanks dOOd!

Hope everyone and hardware make out not too worse for wear.
Are you sure it's just the mere mention of Dr. Zumo, maybe there's a picture stored in it for reference? :nixweiss:

I thought I was tired last night, tonight is a bear! We went to Atlanta last night to beat the rain. Mohota had to work late yesterday so we went down to fetch her. We got up @ 6:30 to do the Breast Cancer Walk and then headed back up in the rain!

Thanks for the pictures, looks like I knew it would be, great. Wish I could have made it but this damn flu has kicked my butt. For the last 4 days I have only traveled from the bedroom to the couch and back. Damn, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I'm getting the shot next year.

This Tamaflu stuff has helped Mark. Or at least I think it has. No panacea by any means. Have made about the same circuit you have with an additional leg in it to include the bathroom. Did manage to sit on the mower around the yard yesterday afternoon though. That was the most ground I'd covered in four days though :drink: .

We're home. Cold, but home nontheless. We'll post more later.

We are home!
What a cold ride home.
Thank goodness for electric gear!
But no rain on the ride home.
We met a bunch of new people and had the honor to spend time with old friends!
Twas a great time.
Chuck (Chief), thanks for all your efforts in putting together this event.
We were so glad Pinkie got to be there!
Thanks to all for being there.
Chip & Nancy!

Ok, I'll tell the story. Henry, Mav, myself and our SO's went a different route Friday. We headed over to ride the dragon. Mav's got an 06 SEUC with the 103. We made it to Andrews N.C. and we pulled over under a canopy as the rain was setting in. When we pulled out, I fell in behind Mav and I knew something wasn't right. It sounded like it was hitting on one cylinder. He managed to get it up to 30 or so, and it died. We coasted into Cherokee County Cycles. they service harleys and rent bikes. I mean, if you had to break down, the only thing more you could ask for would be to break down at home. I doubt I'll ever break down there. After we hung around for a couple of hours, we found out her had a bent pushrod and the heads needed to come off. We talked Jerry into renting a bike and leave his with the guy overnight. Some kid that works there, pulled the rental into service and make sure it was topped off with oil etc. Evidently he thought it was a Briggs an Straton engine, because it had 9 quarts of oil in it. We made it to robbinsville, about 25-30 miles away before we noticed a quart of oil on Pam's leg, a quart on the bike, and a quart on Jerry. (photo attached) Jerry called the guy and he came over with a trailer and towed it, and Jerry and Pam back to his shop. I think that's when Jerry wisely decided to get his bike home for the repairs. His brother lives in Chatanooga and graciously came over and got him Saturday evening.
-
Maybe this photo belongs in the cat vomit and dog puke thread? I'll let the powers that be decide.
-
While we were waiting on the outcome of Jerry's bike, Henry and I patiently waited.
-
Henry playing possum.
-
I wish this would have been the recovery vehicle, but, it wasn't.
-
It didn't rain the entire time! We were heading West on Fontana road if I remember correctly.
-
Here's me just checking out the beautiful landscape. Think Green.
-
Maybe we need ONE more to complete the stable. She's standing flatfooted! That's my girl!
-
Our friends Jerry and Pam. Everyone can get along with Pam, as long as you don't hit the twisties too fast.
-
This picture is self explanatory.
-
Friends meet up again. This time we only drank beer.
-
My buddy AJ. I thought it was a good photo of him.
-
This guy has so damn many bikes, he refuses to look at the camera.
-
Craig (lilbear) and our new friend SBlade1948 (Bob). He can ride the hell outta that Dyna.

This is what retirement would be like.

Great group photo. Glad to see TC and Diva made it up for Saturday. Everyone keep having a great time and safe rides home tomorrow :2vrolijk_21: .
Don...had a nice ride over, and didn't run into rain 'till just south of Dahlonega...had already put the rain pants on when we left the house, so no big deal to throw the jacket on and continue on to the Smith House to have lunch. Had already talked to a couple of those at the lodge and knew they were just chillin' out. We pigged out on fried chicken, greens, creamed corn, fried okra, green beans, spanked potatoes and gravy, and topped it all off with plenty of sweet tea and strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream. We were STUFFED!!! Rode some new backroads and got to CHL about 2:30 or so. Got a lodge room, got out of our rain gear, took a hot shower, and sat out on the porch with Ken, Chuck, Bob, Henry, Vag, and various others who came and went, telling some good stories and having a never empty beer mug, thanks to the owner, who took good care of us all. The four or so hour ride up was well worth it, even though we didn't get to spend as much time with everyone as we would have liked.
It was great to see everyone, as always. Sorry you couldn't make it, but am glad to hear you're feeling somewhat better.
-
Ilene and Martha love wine.
-
JD was in charge of the fire Saturday, and I have to say, she did a great job.
-
Craig and Martha, what a great couple. They are always smiling, at least when riding or at a GTG.
-
VagaBond and VagaSO

And Chief, the guy, along with AJ, who started this CHL pre-gathering, with pinkie.
-
Craig and Martha, what a great couple. They are always smiling, at least when riding or at a GTG.
Thanks for the great comments Ken. We love you guys! I'm always smiling because I've got Martha along riding with me and at the GTG's along with all the great friends we've met. We always seem to have a great time with all of the CVO folks every time we have a chance to get together and especially the part where we get to ride together. We can't wait for the next opportunity to get together again!

Anna Ruby Falls. I had never even heard of them, but it was sure a great ride to there and back. The 1/2 mile hike up the mountain was worth the view of these spectacular falls too!
-
Some of the crew hiking back down while AJ is taking a picture of Martha taking this picture.
-
Nancy, Chip, Linda and AJ on the final crossover bridge just below the falls. By the way AJ, we all loved Linda. She seems great! Looking forward to getting to know her better at the next GTG.
-
Martha and Ilene. Two lovely ladies after just completing their climb up the mountain to see the falls.
-
Despite the little drizzle on Friday and the wash out on Saturday, we had a great time with the GTG at CHL this Spring! Truthfully, geat folks, great times and great rides. We had a bitter cold ride back to Charlotte today pretty much avoiding the rain, but even that was fun. The ride down 129 and the pass over the mountain this morning with 15 foot visibility was another adventure. Besides limiting visibility, that fog is some cold stuff! We had a great time and really enjoyed meeting all of the new folks, visiting old friends and in general just having a great time riding, relaxing, eating and making up on lost time! We look forward to seeing all of you again soon!
-
Thanks to everyone who is posting pictures and telling stories. Next best thing to being there! :2vrolijk_21:

The gang ready to pull out for Friday's ride!
Friday's ride was a blast. I had the distinct pleasure of following Nancy most of the day and watching her tame those twisties. Nancy, you're killing me, after watching you all day, Ilene's bugging me about learning to ride and I can't think of a candidate for her learning sitting in the garage at the moment! :nervous: It's a lot of fun riding in a group you're comfortable with and that was certainly the case on Friday.

What a great time! :) Even tho we only spent one night, it was well worth the ride in the rain Saturday to visit with our CVO friends. :2vrolijk_21: We were very lucky today, no rain, but the wind made it seem colder than it was. Thank God for heated seats. I caught a few winks, as usual, on my throne.
Thanks so much to Renea for the Diva t-shirt and to Cheri for replacing the possum that we bought on our last trip to CLH. On one of our local weekend rides, our possum flew off the back of the back.
Thanks to everyone who took pics! More great memories. :)

Bob,
Just think after you get the NightRod for Ilene and Nancy takes her out for some riding lessons you are going to have a hard time keeping up w/her. Can't you see the two of them out having a ball Nancy on the Dyna and Ilene on the NightRod? :vrolijk27: Not to worry though Nancy will only show Ilene how to go from 0 - 99.9 really fast (at least that's as fast as Chip believes she's going). ;) ;D

I wasn't close enough to see who outran who, I guess we'll have to ask Chip about that. ;)

After she gets experience on the V-Rod, of course she'll need a CVO Ultra, and a couple of SEEG's too ya know. AND by the way, that permit for the garage....Will it still be good for a garage twice that size?

We were at the Edelweiss Country Inn in Sautee. I don't recall the server's names. We were the only ones there and had a good meal and a lot of fun.

That was a fun run for the last twisting road of the day. I think the Sherrif in the K9 unit is the one who had the best time scaring the chit out of us when we came flying up on him and then tried to mimic safe and responsible motorcycle riders as we politely went around and did the speed limit thinking he was running our plates. Thankfully he wasn't interested in us because he could have had us for lunch if he was hungry.

Well, we had a great time as always! I really appreciate the good times that we spent together. Thank you all!
Oh, BTW if anyone is in the area, there is a festival coming up. Not quite sure what it is but I think Ken might be interested.

According to their website, there will be cooter racing in front of the court house!
-
Did anyone notice Chucks new paint?
-
Had no idea what in hell a Cooter was. Thank god they had a website.

:2vrolijk_21:
Sorry to say, but there was more damage. I will be putting the "Smurf" into the shop asap. :'(

We made it home and garaged the "steeds" before we could/would get wet. :huepfenjump3:
I wish I could say the trip home was uneventful. :( But events happens.

Made it home. Safely apparently. That's most important. It sounds like bike issues were discovered or experienced on the way though.
How bad you think it is? Be down long?

Duane,
Chuck's new paint is siimply incredible! Pictures will never capture all of the details that the eye picks up in person.

Yes there will be cooter racing ~ to be honest, we had to look up the festival to know what a cooter was!!! AJ had a different thought on what it meant but I will let him explain that. So, come on down and watch the critters..........

I don't know yet. I haven't inquired the shop yet on availability and how to tackle the problem.
It is related to the emergency stop and drop. Had my riding instinct on alert all the way home. :nervous:

George,
Glad to see that you and Judy both made it home safely. Sorry to hear that you are having some problems with the bike. Everything looked pretty good following the E/S/D procedure in Georgia. Hope it's not too much at all! Keep us informed and we look forward to seeing you two at the next one!

Well at least SOMEONE noticed it Craig. All the drama and work and I felt bad for Chuck - no one giving us an "unbiased" view.
Sure looks great in the pictures :2vrolijk_21:

Chip,
I'll go you one better, but must say since I saw the new paint AT CHL it is on topic, Chuck's new paint and complete bike is the finest looking bagger I have ever laid eyes on! It is so reminiscent of the '05 Cherry SEEG, but takes everything to an entirely new dimension! I hope that Chuck shows this bike often and look forward to seeing him start his collection of trophies! Great job Chuck and take a bow!

Craig
Craig, not only can I attest to the beauty of his bike, I can confirm that it rode well with the Bushtec trailer behind it! I was fortunate enough to ride it while we were down in Atlanta. You never knew the trailer was back there. There was a little vibration due to the poly bushing, but Chief assures me that will be taken care of. ;D
It really was a honor to ride such a beautiful bike. :orange:

Gray this is the fifth one so far. Thank goodness for the warranty!
This time the whole unit stopped working. When I powered it on it will not go beyond the "Access Powered" page. I tried several hard resets & a new battery and no luck. Good thing I bought that backup software!
We should probably start a whole thread just on Treo's.
-
Wow, fifth one!! :o Is this still under the original warranty period or the insurance/warranty that can be purchased extra? I can't remember off hand what the OEM warranty is. Either way it's a hassle to not have your phone. BTW - I did get the back up software and have it doing a back up everynight. :2vrolijk_21: Thanks.

Well, one hit the water... a side effect of living so close to the coast! This one was covered under the original warranty so ins did not kick in and no deductable this time. BTW the deductable is $95 when you have to replace it that way. Cheaper than a new one I guess. I am very hard on my cell phones. All of my business lines are forwarded to it so it gets a lot of use also. With that said though, I still think the Treo is the best phone for what it can do.

Craig,
Here's a follow up; the insurance agent and the shop's writer have been notified and are "on board".
Now I have to get the "lead" out of my a$$ and get there today for the assessment of damages. Precursory dialogue indicates a short period of down time. That is... zero paint damage.
Here's to good fortune... :drink: :drink: :drink:

Jerry (MAv) and Pam just left. He borrowed the enclosed trailer and is headed back to Andrews SC to get his motorsickle. He plans to be there at 9:00 AM EST and be here before 4:00 CST tomorrow afternoon.
I told him there'll be room in the trailer if he sees another pretty bike along the way. Every man needs a spare Harley.
Pam wants to kick me in the shins too.

I believe Ken (Hogbreath) set me up. We go out to his garage and there are three bikes setting there. Two beautiful V-rods, one black Nightster and the other a Screamin Eagle. He starts them up as we are talking and they sound good, real good! if you know what I mean. We talk a little more about the bikes and I am excitied by this time.
We go back inside, Pam and Cheri are setting at the bar talking, and I say, I need another bike, for back-up and so you can ride also.
All of a sudden I get these two red lasers burning a hole in me, with this evil look and Ken standing behind me just smiling, saying her safety, comfort, and only needing $750.
Anyway, got the BCC cuse back home and headed to the dealer in the morning. Hopefully he can get it fixed in a short time. It has been beautiful in Western Kentucky today, a lot of bikes out riding.
Also stopped by Copperhead Lodge on the way back home, just to say Hello, and they asked when we were all coming back, They really enjoyed the group. They were setting for a band that night and were busy, but took time to talk for a few minutes.
Ken, thanks for the use of your trailer, I really apprecate it very much.
