Like many others, my Dyna mirrors are useless. It is an 07 SE, with the mirrors that have the long slot, which is obviously the problem. I saw some mirrors for either a Road King or Ultra for sale on this site, and they look almost the same, but instead of having a open slot, they are milled to look like a slot, but it is solid. My question, will those mirrors fit the Dyna? From the pic the guy had up, they look almost the same except for the closed vrs. open slot on the stem. If they will fit, I may go that way, cause it looks as close to factory as I could get. Any insight or wisdom here would be appreciated.

I don't know which mirrors you are speaking about but I too have an 07 FXDSE. Had the same shaking problem. I replaced the mirrors with another set of HD mirrors that look very similar but have solid metal in the slot. The shaking problem is gone

Hey, thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know what mirrors you changed too? I want it to be as close to the original look as I can. Appreciate it.

tell the dealer and they will replace them for free... i went with the 08 mirrors and they look the same and no more shake.

I did the same as sedyna. Dealer replaced 07' with 08' fxdse2 solid stem mirrors and problem solved for no charge. They did keep my original mirrors for warranty replacement though. They know they have a problem and are standing behind this one. Dave

I said something at my local dealer about the mirrors on my 07 while it was in the shop for the rough idleling. They told me that it was just a loose bolt and that no other complaints have been made to Harley so it would not be a warranty issue. I am going to print your quote as well as the previous person where Harley replaced them. Thanks for the info.

Search the site. This has come up before. Have some vague recollection of someone citing a service bulletin to replace them. In the same thread someone had posted a picture of a set of mirrors with a hold drilled across both sides and a small bolt and nut run through. Looked crappy but stopped the tuning fork shakes.

Nothing has changed. The slotted mirrors tend to shake, the solid ones are fine. If you have slotted mirrors, you can try to tighten them as much as possible (with the risk of damaging the mount) and the shaking will be reduced. Other than that you need to buy different mirrors, without a slot. Ask at the dealer if they will exchange them for free, since it is actually a problem with the mirror design, and nothing else. If the dealer does not help you, you might want to call H-D directly at their customer support line.
