Title: Lyndall Brake Pads 07 FXDSE

My 07 FXDSE front brake tends to howl, plus it really doesn't stop that well. 

Q:   I was going to get new Lyndall gold pads, but was unsure of whether it has the same calipers as a standard FXD?    Since most catalogs & dealers (like Dennis Kirk) don't list the FXDSE as a model, what model should I choose in order to get the right part?  Just plain FXD?    Maybe they all have the same pads and it doesn't matter.

I want to know the same answer, and also if they make a worthwhile difference over stock pads? Hopefully others will chime in.

The pads are the same for all 2000-2007 Dyna's (and most of the other models as well).  The Lyndall part number is 7195, and I would recommend the Z+ version, not the G version.  I found the Lyndall's to be quieter and they produce much less brake dust, and the braking "feel" is much more linear and therefore easier to control.  The stock pads on my bagger (same pads as your Dyna) seemed to have no stopping power at all with light lever application, and then when I grabbed the lever it was way too easy to lock the brakes.  Sort of like a light switch, off or on.  The Lyndall's fixed that.

If you really want to improve your braking, add the second disk and caliper on the front.
