Title: New HD 6 speed tranny
Post by: JCZ on January 29, 2004, 06:08:06 PM
We'll probably see six speed trannys in the 05 models (and maybe before).  It's the same ratio as the stock five speed, 6th gear will be much like an "overdrive".

Now all we need is the ABS (anti lock brakes) system!

Fits '00-later Softail and '01-later Touring models. (Will not fit models equipped with hydraulic clutch.)

So much for the SEEG [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The 6 speed would be nice but I dont know how much I would need it. At 75mph my rpm are just a hair over 3000.  THe bike seems to like to run at this rpm...at 3200 rpm your cruzin 80-85. and since my rinehart pipe suck at low rpm (so I am told..will have a dyno tune soon) I like running these rpms.. bike rides smooth.

my SERK does just fine running around 2500 RPM which is about where that would put me

That sounds like a sweet range.  Less vibration, less noise (especially with aftermarket exhaust) so we can hear the stereo, and prolonged engine life for those of us who do a lot of long distance riding.  I'm jumping on this as soon as it's available for our bike!
