We all travel so thought you might like to know where you don't want to stay:

I'm not sure how California (or the west) escaped that list. :nixweiss:

Back when I was pretty young, by dad used to tell us about this great hotel in NYC that had the largest indoor saltwater swimming pool in the world.  He just couldn't stop telling us about how wonderful this place was, and we finally went there.  I remember being scared when we walked in and we went to look at the room.  There were roaches running rampant everywhere.  There were things written on the mirror in red lipstick, there was more dust on the furniture than what you see on a bike that's been riden for many miles on dry salt-covered roads, and they had white leather backboards on the bed that looked like whitewalls that had never been cleaned after years of riding, with traces of more writing in lipstick.  I wish I could think of the name of this place, but it was the worst dump I had ever seen, and I've seen some pretty nasty places.  Needless to say, we didn't stay there.  Anybody out there know what the place was called?  The largest indoor saltwater pool in the world with probably be the identifying factor.

I just found the place in a web search.  It was the St George Hotel and from reading about it, apparently at one time it was quite the place.  Several presidents stayed there.  It's gone now.  http://www.mrbellersneighborhood.com/story.php?storyid=2128 (http://www.mrbellersneighborhood.com/story.php?storyid=2128)
