Title: Just installed PC V on SE Fat Bob
Post by: harris48cars on April 03, 2009, 05:00:25 PM
Major pain to install. Crisper throttle responce. Runs cooler (This was what I was after). Is the bike faster? I thought it was fast before and if it is faster, it isn't obvious to me. Only did 15 miles after install so I haven't got enough miles to determine if the gas mileage is worse. If it continues to run cool and I don't lose much in MPG, then I'm sold.

I did 200 miles today and not only did I not lose any mileage, I gained 7 (45.3 MPG today on one tank ). Checked a second tank and got 42+ MPG. I could have equaled the 45.3 but I rode somewhat aggressively enjoying a great day and the PC V.

Sorry. I forgot to mention the best MPG I got prior to the PC V was 38.5.

Rush 2.25 slipons. The PCV came "plug n play" from Fuelmoto and it is working great. 48.7 MPG on my last tank. That is with no playing and I stopped using 6th gear as much. I've been hitting 6th around 50 mph and the 110 seems to handle that fine. This last tank I didn't use 6th till 60 MPH and the mileage went up 3 or 4 MPG.

Does the SE Fatbob come with the dreaded Cat as does the 09 SE touring models?

Don't know why this can't be determined definitively. There are opinions both ways. This is for sure, there are no cats in the pipes as I have looked. Also the Rush pipes don't have cats built in. And lastly, if there are cats in the stock mufflers, it's irrelevant as they are now history. I suspect they are cat free.

Thanks.  I too will remove the HD pipes and replace them with something else.

the cat is in the oval section where the 2 headpipes merge. You can hear it clinking when you turn your bike off when its been running a bit. Some folks have drilled them out.Im deciding what to do soon as my rush 2.0's will be here wed.
