I think the MoCo recommending break-in is for all models/motors. :nixweiss: Check your owners manual and follow those directions for RPM/Mileage and you should be good to go.

Even with headwork and SERT and 50mm tb I run out of power about 4500 rpm :'( with the stock 255's

so it has the 251 cam? r u sure it has the right computer program in it? the only 2 programs for a 110 r stock, (stock pistons/255 cam), and the race kit, with the 10.5 pistons/260 cam... they have a program for the 251 cam/stock heads for the 103" motor, not the 110"... on another note, u should have the heads done (shaved) to raise the compression up to about 10.1 with that big(ger) cam, as that cam with 9.1 compression will be very soft under 3k rpms...

My first build was domed pistons,251 cams, 50mm tb, sert, Baisley pro street heads. No low end pinged real bad, even off stop light when temps were 85-95. Oil temps 280-305. Only ran good 85 mph on up. Comp 10.5-1. Took out the pistons, replaced with forged flat tops. Back to 255 cams, dropped comp to 9.6-1 ran much better with 100 ft lbs of torque at 1800rpm, and retuned. Ran much better and cooler. Only thing is the head gaskets keep blowin.

Ran much cooler with 255 cams, I find this hard to believe.

Gabe:  follow the owner manual instructions. I personally have rarely gone passed 3000 RPM even now after 10 months old (got 14k miles now).  After all, it IS a touring bike.

I have a CVO Fat Bob with the 110. I put 251 cams in, SERT, and rush slip ons.
Got it in the winter and had all the work done before i got it.
It slugs a little at take off, but pulls hard from 2200 all the way to 6200. I love the bike. It was pretty much broke in on the dyno. I babied it for the first 1000 miles most of the time. The biggest thing is just make sure its all warmed up before you run it hard. That dosent seem to be a problem withe this bike as it runs too hot. I mean just run it for a few good miles before you rev it up high.
The engine does seem to run hot and the heat management system will kick the rear cylinder off. This just happened as I got off the highway and into some redlights. It was 80 degrees out, but i wasn't running it hard in traffic. I will see what the dealer reccomends.

Ran much cooler with 255 cams, I find this hard to believe.
I think it ran much cooler with a much better tune.

I believe it runs cooler because of the drop in compression and a better tune. The 255's are hard to beat for low to midrange but not good over 4-4500 rpm's
