Hey All,
Out for a ride with friends today when the bike started running really rough. It was immediately obvious that it had lost a cylinder. My first thought was that it had something to do with the parade mode. When I figured out that it was the front cylinder, I knew it had nothing to do with that. I thought perhaps it had fouled a plug. I swapped them, and still no front cylinder. Headed for home, and during the ride the front cylinder was cutting in and out. I thought it had to be the front coil or the ECM. Got home, hooked the bike up to the computer via the SESRT and checked the trouble codes. Sure enough it said "Front Coil Open Or Low". Taking the bike in to the local dealer tomorrow. Kinda unusual losing a coil at only 1,800 miles huh? ???

Unusual to lose a coil. No matter the mileage. But any part can fail at any time.

Electrical parts usually last a very long time, or the fail very early on. At least that is what I see working with electricity and electronics for a living

my friend had a similar problem with the rear jug last week, but his was caused by the ecm crapping out
bike had covered 10,000miles
