Not sure what you are asking. if you're asking for permission to buy it, yes go ahead. if you're asking if it makes good $ sense, no it doesn't. That's the world of CVO. and this is just the beginning.
a good deal would be MSRP or below.

Very sad that you most likely won't get much for all those add ons. You add those because YOU wanted them. Good luck but in these times you will get slughtered trying to get your money back. I'm sure your 09 ultra is a beautiful bike. Try to love it for a while, or till this economy turns around. .

Go down to your local dealership and talk to Ken or.......talk to Chip. Either of them will help you get over the hump mentally and you'll ride home on the red CVO. :2vrolijk_21:

Gabe I did the same thing in 04 tried to make an Ultra into a CVO, Unless you get really lucky you wont get much for your options, I had to strip the bike and make it 0EM and sell the parts separately to get a return on them. a standard well kept machine will sell for about as much as your loaded one, most buyers want to add their own accessories.

With that much in the current bike already getting it just as you want it why not just bite the bullet a bit more? Get a set of primered tins and have a painter paint them to match what you want. That'll cost less than the bath you'll probably have to take on the trade-in and all the time/money/effort involved in making the current bike just as you want stays in place.

If you love the CVO......Buy the CVO, yes you will take a hit on the Ultra but with all those extras it is still an Ultra.
Get the best deal you can for it and take the plunge.... in my opinion there is only one bike for me and that is the CVO.
Once I took the plunge, I have been hooked ever since.
As far as the economy is, if your looking.....you can probably afford it.
I will guarantee this, you won't put $11,000.00 dollars worth of chrome on a CVO.

Ok, maybe not just chrome. Though there are some here that have easily done that much on cosmetic/aesthetic upgrades. And god help the poor bastards who have added performance, suspension, audio and the full range of other potential upgrades. CVO bikes come with everything to begin with just like I date supermodels :drink: .

Hey, they all got enough money to buy me new bikes. I'd put out! I'm easy but I'm not cheap :2vrolijk_21: .

Unfortunately Don, I resemble the above statement except for the part about the supermodels. :-\

Look at this way though Bob. You may be mentally ill enough to have done it to one beautiful red SEEG. But at least you weren't so screwed up to have gone off the deep end on a red SEEG and then compound the mental fracture with a red SERG on to of it! :huepfenlol2:

It sounds like you have done up your Ultra pretty nicely and selling it at any point, you are going to get burned hugely, as you won't be able to get squat out of the accessories you have added. Your bike still has a book value based on the VIN # and in general, the bank won't lend on that bike over the book value...likely a bit less than book value. That creates a real problem for anyone looking to get rid of a bike that's been over-accessorized. Not only are you going to get burned on your current Ultra, you will now be starting fresh with a CVO that although extremely nice, still needs exhaust and EFI mods just to get you started. Assuming you want to do things like a chrome inner primary, etc. you will still have things that will cost you dearly to get the CVO the way you want it.
Based on the items you listed as add-ons to your Ultra, if you are going to go for the CVO, I would suggest getting started now to start stripping those accessories back off the Ultra. There are quite a few of them that you will still want to put on the CVO, and there are plenty of avenues to sell off the rest of the parts and get some of your money back out of them. Then you can trade in the bike with the upgraded engine and do pretty well with your trade. Still, I don't think that this wil be a financially rewarding transaction for you, and it looks like you've got a lot of work ahead of you to bring that Ultra back to anything resembling stock.
If I were you, like someone else mentioned, I would just spend some money to get a custom paint job done on your Ultra and you will have a real one of a kind bike. I wouldn't try to duplicate the CVO paint job though, but that's only my opinion there. I just think you can come up with something better on your own. Either way, you'll save yourself a bundle over the long haul and have a bike that you won't see anywhere else. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Bad time for a change i guess ,
a lot of mods done at your ultra and now you found the new world of CVO , if you are in love and can afford it then buy it .
I did nearly the same .
Have had a Fatboy with dragonfly batwing and a lot of mods done that the bike was nearly finished , have had parts in originally packages for the Fatboy and ordered the SERG .
The money hurts but the change to the CVO was the best step i ever did .
Never want to go back again as long as i can afford . ::)
