Ohhhh.....in the stripped down version and with some taller risers/bars, that's going be a fine-looking scoot.  :2vrolijk_21: :pepper: :jalapeno: :huepfenjump3: har!  spyder

Yep, a beautiful bike indeed!
Just emailed my dealer, I'm going for the O/B/S version!  :carrot:

Agree - its strange that thy do not have these obvious options on Softail - especially on models which designed for touring - like this Convertible or Heritage Classic.

Also - did you note that this bike has the lowest ground clearance? According to HD site its 3.7 in or 94 mm? I wonder why?

Awesome bike, best CVO paint for 2010!! But can anyone think of a good reason why the MoCo can't or won't add cruise control, throttle by wire and ABS brakes to the Softail family?

I can tell you.

No place to put it.

Look where it is on a bagger and you will see.

I'm still saying this is an attempt to go after the Indian Motorcycle. Notice the long fender? The quick release saddlebags? Even the windshield.

Not to hurt your feelings AJ, but Harley will sell more of just one color of this bike than Indian will sell in total units in 2010.

And I bet this bike has been on the design board and planned long before Indian produced their first bike.

Yes, I like the Indians but don't lose sight and think the tail (Indian) is going to wag the dog. (Harley)

Not gonna happen!

Better chance of seeing you in silver and black sequins!

no tach!  I liked the 2007 FXSTSSE round 110 air filter cover better but guess it fits the "tour bike" style...

could have just created a convertable Fatboy, or better would have like to see an FXST standard or custom with a stripped down front fender with beefy 130 17" or 18" tire, & wide bobtail with phat 18" 240 tire like the 2009 FXSTSSE3.

not sure about them highlighting the "convertable gimmick" as the primary theme of the bike, more of a "feature" but overall looks like a nice ride.

Haven't seen a CVO I did not like.

It does have a tach.  It has a digital speedo and a classic analog tach.

I gonna break from the crowd and say that this bike will be the hardest sell out of the CVOs this year.

Well, I bought an '09 CVO Springer, added a winscreen and saddlebags to it and have a bike that is pretty close to this one.  I'm already considering trading it for an Abyss Blue/Sapphire one 'cause I like the full fender and the footboards.  Crap!  Why didn't I wait a year...... :-X

I do like the paint. I am, however, not clear who would buy the bike, but may they ride safely. Separately, is it just me, or are the fenders way to big (front and back) ??? I think it looks really awkward in some of the pics, even with the rider on the bike ...

Comments?

Cheers,
Louis

As I said I am planning to upgrade my wife's Dyna into this bike. I think we will go with Crimson Red Sunglo/ Autumn Haze color option.

Fenders do look quite big. I do not mind that. Gives it a bit retro/Indian look. Hope my wife likes it....

Nope. If she does not like it I guess changing deposit to another model will not be that difficult. She will see it in a week or two.

I guess someone needs to say it so I will.  The bike is not very exciting.  It looks like a Honda VTX.  I think they need to go back to the drawing board.

I'm thinking the Softtail was around prior to the VTX.  :confused5:  spyder

Spider,
Compare for yourself

Of course the softail was around first, but the bike still looks like a VTX.

I don't see the VTX so much as I see a bike that looks kinda goofy, and cobbled together from part that don't integrate well. Does anyone remember the FXRT? It made a lot of sense as a sport tourer, but it didn't sell well. Ducati's Multi-strada is the same, very functional, but not an attractive package.

That describes my assessment of it very well.  Could have been better/cleaner overall design.  I'm starting to notice that in a # of the Harleys.  Wonder why?  spyder

I like the bike. If I had a bigger garage (and wallet) I would consider the O/B.

Does anyone know why they didn't chrome the oil tank.

They painted the oil tank the same color as the frame. Much the same way as the custom bike builders do it.

I have seen the orange one in person and the bike is a solid 10. I would trade my 08 inferno Springer for it, but why spend another 10K? I love my springer, but this is the first bike I have seen in a while that gets me excited.

I also thought it was a little underdesigned, like a bike being built by 4 different engineers robbing the same parts bin, then revealing it only for the 4 groups to be surpirsed at it's oddness. But now it's growing on me. I saw on without the windscreen thingy...and a larger billet headlight installed.

In O/B it was hard to hate,,,and kinda easy to like.

I traded my 09 street glide for the 2010 CVO convertible and glad I did.  The glide was a little tall for me even though it is lowered. I am 6' tall but with a 31.5 inseam. Never felt sure footed even after changing the seat. The glide also had bad wind buffeting that would give me killer headaches and red eyes after long rides at highway speeds, even though I tried 5 windshields. The only one that worked was the full size one but don't want to look though it.
Riding the convertible reminds me of riding my chopper again. Feel like i,m in the bike and very sure footed. Added engine guard, pegs and the king low windshield. It is just as comfortable as the glide with maybe being a little harder on big bumps in the road. This bike is also an attention getter. People always telling me how beautiful she is. Being able to have a hotrod bike and change to a touring bike in about a minute is awesome. By the way it is the orange and black one. I also installed the screamin eagle exhaust and xied. Big change in power of the bike. Will get some pictures up soon. ;D ;D

I think its the best looking bike H-D has this year, If i were single, I would have one, I test rode one in Myrtle Beach, love the way it sits and handles.
