Title: Changing primary fluid.
Post by: cahdbiker on September 13, 2009, 12:24:46 AM
I was changing out the primary fluid in my 09SEUC. I drained it  while it was on the kickstand since it was easier to get to the drain bolt that way then with the bike raised on the jack. The bike was parked on a concrete slab leaning the same direction as the kickstand so it was at a pretty good tilt. Much to my surprise 46 ounces came out. I know my service manual sayes add 38 oz unless you are removing the primary case and then it sayes to add 45 oz. Naturally I put back in the same amount that came out.(with the bike on the jack raised level in both directions) I replaced the primary case oil with Redline primary case oil,I also changed the engine oil to Redline20-60 with a new HD filter and the transmission the Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof(which did wonders for my 95 Heritage) Since I got my 09 SEUC this site has been a wealth of information.I am hoping for a little feed back on the amount of oil for the primary case.  Thanks in advance.
