Post up your best SESG pics to see who will reign SUPREME. Second Attempt.
You can make up your own mind, but the rules are as follows.
1. I am the judge
2. Post as many pictures as you wish of ANY SESG (it doesn't have to be yours)
3. One winner for each color offered in 2010.
4. Bonus points for style.
5. You can make comments about the photos, but keep it brief.
6. Please let the pictures do the talking and refrain from sidebars (see rule 5.)
7. Bribes accepted and encouraged.
Here is the deal. I will never get to see even one of these bikes before I have to decide which one to buy. I've known since before they were released that I would buy one like many of you I'm sure. I however have to sit on the sideline until May before I'll be anywhere near one and I'm still not convinced of which color to choose.
Early leaders are Red Devil for the Spiced Rum and JCZ for the Candy Concord. They've thrown up the best pics I've seen for those two colors and I'm unsure yet who's posted the best one's for the TS.

These are some great looking photos. Looks like there will be no winner from the Spiced Rum group. Too bad.

well here's a sidebar, like it or not. what's wrong with the 2010's and the reflectors? is the glue too tough to get off or did you guys not get the word. reflectors and stickers gotta go

Take another look Larry. No reflectors on my bike. Tail light, saddle bag latch and front forks....all gone. :2vrolijk_21:

Well, you'll still see them on both of my bikes...couple of reasons. One, they don't bother me at all being there, and b, they do give you some side conspicuity....I think it's amazing every one does wht they can to light up the rear end of their bikes and then don't worry about whether they can be seen from the side.... :nixweiss:

Bingo!!!! I always wondered about that too.... it's all about being seen and some are so hung up on removing the reflectors. :confused5:
I know, I know... some are going to say I still have stock hinges on my KTP, but again they don't bother me and I don't like the KTP on my bike unless I have to have it on (travelling).... Just proves that it's different strokes for different folks. :nixweiss:

You're not the only one Gary. I have stock hinges on both my tour packs, too. It's just not an issue for me and I don't even notice it (I'm on the right side, anyway) and it's not on my bike unless I'm traveling. And the SESG is the first bike that I didn't put extra tail lighting on and the first bike that I removed the reflectors on. :nixweiss:
I can see where the rear lighting might help. As for the reflectors on the sides of the bike......if they're going to help then I'm just moving through that intersection to damn slow or the reflectors aren't going to help anyway. :nixweiss:
Like you said, different strokes for different folks. And I'm glad we're that way......it's what makes it all different and interesting. :2vrolijk_21:
-
Nothing scenic, but I am slowly making my way aroung the bike and addressing what I consider a few flaws in the stock paint. Doesn't seem like they used a proper finishing glaze when they buffed it out - had some "haze marks" that I've caight on other bikes as well (in posted pics). Snapped a pic of the Batwing that I finished.
Like I said ... not scenic by any means, but it sure shows how dramatic that Spiced Rum is.
Enjoy!

Just to answer JCZ call, don't hold lack of mods against me yet! this is first morning after arrival.
-
Another view - includes goofy reflector and dealers lame reflector bolts for plate - got lost shortly after this
-
Just a comment on side reflectors. I lost a friend a few years ago. He was sitting in the middle of an intersection waiting to make a left turn. Car approached from his right and slammed into his bike. Driver claimed he never saw him sitting there. He had no side reflectors but I'm not sure they would have helped. The driver of the car was flying. . . . . We could debate the pros and cons but IMHO, side reflectors offer marginal protection.

At the risk of getting flamed back to 1967 for sticking my nose in the middle of this SESG thing going on, I’ve just gotta say….sonofabitch that is a fine looking piece of machinery…ouch! :2vrolijk_21:

Wow Myko. Honestly feels like I'm looking at this bike again for the first time. Great pics.

Thanks Sapper... I'll try to get some light this weekend and get some with the mods so far and post. Everytime I walk by this bike with the light at a different angle I see how great this paint is..

JC, I don't know how I missed it before, but I never remember you changing out the mirrors. Did you make a bar change as well? Guess I'll have to go back and re-read your thread...
Yep, I did. Went with the Touring Pullback bars. They're 2" up and 2" back from stock. The web site says they're polished stainless however, that's wrong.....they're chrome.
Same bars as the wife has. She was able to keep the fairing mounted mirrors because she has her bars pulled way back. I knew I would have mine up so had to change the mirrors. When I had the inner fairing painted I traded my stock to a guy that had a Ultra Limited (he wanted a painted black inner) then sent his to get painted the blue.
Here's the bars..... http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?WebLogicSession=LOkYxuzMMMd24qZw6055O47t4o7Nrm0qWJadFfsHGVYYOkUalulF!-2046277622!hiwpbmsp04.ihd.hd!7005!8005&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442242105&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302287417&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302287417&bmUID=1259250821123&bmLocale=en_US
So............what else did you miss?

The big blue couterpart......
If I remeber correctly you ordered the "Color Match" Pak did it come with the flame pin stripe or did you have it added?
-
So............what else did you miss?
If I could answer that I wouldn't have missed it? :huepfenlol2:
-
If I remeber correctly you ordered the "Color Match" Pak did it come with the flame pin stripe or did you have it added?
No, it came with the matching pin stripe. But that will not be a problem for any of the professional strippers. We've got several here in Nor Cal and they're all very good. These flames lines aren't very complicated.....an easy pattern to duplicate.
-
If I could answer that I wouldn't have missed it? :huepfenlol2:
You know (just like with the SEEG).....I can stand there and stare at the bike as I'm telling somebody all the changes.......I still forget something every time. :nixweiss: I guess that's a good thing though.....keep us from getting bored with our own bikes.
The SEEG is the first bike I owned that I never got tired of. I think the SESG will be the second.
-

Do they duplicate the flames on the pole or on the dance floor?
They MUST be very good!
(sorry - that one was just too easy :) )
-

I agree they are easy but I was debating ordering one and the Dealers cannot answer that question. I sold my spare Tour Pak yesterday. I am going to order the Color match Tequila Pak and sell my Black on when it comes in.
Since it comes with Flames on the lid it should be easy for my painter to place them on the bottom.
-

If they're really good they duplicate on the pole or the foor. :huepfenlol2:

It's written right in the description. Might be time to look for another dealership. :nixweiss:
You'll be able to sell that black one right here.

be carefull here, the bike in the picture is an 08 SEUC not the SESG, those colors have been out awhile now. the SESG is really only one color, the gold/silver stripe is not paint, it's foil tape, almost impossible to duplicate, but it is not needed on the TP or lowers, but the flame stripping is, that is easy.
you would have come out cheaper and more custom to have sent me your tp. I have the TS colors

Seriously though - I've walked in your shoes and I remember how important things from DEROS are. That being said, here's a few "beauty shotz" of mine. As an explanation ... I struggled long and hard about whether to do the chrome or black stealth rack. After seeing it on, it was the right choice for the Spiced Rum.
I am Blackbeard .. and I am here for your women ... LOL .... :bananarock:
Get home safe Bro ... you owe me, Wheels, and your Dad a ride next spring!!!

Ya gotta love how the Spiced Rum blends with the black painted inner-fairing. Putting the black rack on the back seemed to make sense. Thoughts?

TIF2, I really like the black rack.
Lately I've not had much time to hang around the site, but it's been real nice finding all the stuff everyone's been up to when I get a chance to get back to it.
Really looking forward to riding with all youze when I get back.

Hey, Myko, what mirrors are those?? They look like ones I saw on an Ultra while at Crossroads H-D in Wilkesboro, NC back in September. I talked to the guy that owned the bike about them, but all he really knew is he saw them in a magazine somewhere. I tried looking a little bit after I got home, but never came up with them. If yours are the ones I saw on the other bike, they're pretty nice and beefy with a metal stem on the back and the shape seems like they'd give a better view than the H-D fairing mirrors.

Performance Machine (who would've guessed?) FL Touring Mirrors. Come in chrome or black... Jenni @ 20%
I like them much better than the stock in appearance, thinner and beats the crap out of the cheap plastic. They do provide a slightly larger view than stock... put a couple hundred miles with them today and I'm sold. More here: Myko's Spiced Rum Mods (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=43807.0)

I have a set of these but have not installed them yet (had to paint the small stem ;) ). They should fit stock on the SESG, I think the drilling instructions are for - say - an Ultra that does not have pre-existing provisions for fairing mount mirrors. The last of my audio stuff should be arrive towards the end of the week, so if Myko doesn't chime in before that I'll let you know.
Should be a standard R&I on the stock SESG mirrors.

I went for the chrome PM mirrors (still not sure if I should have got black) and they just fit no additional drilling or fettling.

I think that the chrome on Tequila bikes (and the Wine lovers) looks really good. I went with black to match the name - hehe.
At least that little stem on the chrome mirrors blends in - on my black ones I was feeling - " I need to do something about that".
Pics to follow once it's back together enough to make sense.
