Title: Suggested rides from Las Vegas Mid March
Post by: roadrunner on February 09, 2006, 03:44:00 PM
I am looking for suggestions riding from Las Vegas, I am doing a fly & ride in mid March.  So far I have; starting at Zion National Park, Tuscon, Tombstone, South Rim (North Rim I think is closed), Hoover Dam.
Thanks

It's a very short trip, just outside of town actually; but if you're in Vegas a quick spin out to and through Red Rock is always worth the time.

Another good short ride out of Vegas is Mount Charleston.  Great scenery, lots of opportunities for Vegas pics from the top and a great breakfast at the ski lodge.

6-7 days, 2 of which I want to spend in Tuscon.  I was thinking riding through Mt Zion, down around the south rim, I think the North rim will be closed, through williams, flagstaff, phoenix, and to Tuscon for a couple of days and see Tombstone then up to the hoover dam, and vegas.  Thanks!

When is this trip planned for?  If the North Rim is closed.... The South Rim could be down right COLD.  Flagstaff can get snow at night.  But if you're going to ride from Flag down to Phoenix, you gotta take Hwy. 89A down Oak Creek Canyon, and thought Sadona.   8-)
