My 07 SEUC (35K miles) has started making a heavy rumbling sound when clutch is released under a load. Sound appears to be coming from the clutch area. The best way to duplicate it is to hold the front brake, give it a little gas and release the clutch. Pulled the left saddle bag off and the drive belt is jumping when it makes the noise.
Don't know how the clutch/hub are made but it sounds like something splined is slipping or the belt is slipping.
Anyone else ever have this problem?
Tech is suppose to pull the clutch cover this afternoon.
Suppose to leave on a two week trip a week from tomorrow!

I've replaced the clutch basket on my 04 and 05 due to the splines stripping...

Sounds like the drive belt is loose.....really loose....

No, tension is good.

I've seen this once before ... it happens when the luggage rack on the tour-pak isn't perfectly centered.

After a few sleepless nights worrying if my bike would be ready for the trip out west next week it's finally fixed!
The tech isn't really sure what fixed the problem. He pulled everything out of the primary, inspected parts and reinstalled. With the compensator nut problems the 110's have I feel that it may have been loose. Anyway, noise is gone after reassembly!
I'll find out if it's really fixed after following Brian 5000 + miles!

have a safe trip. You know when I was following you home from KY I thought your bike leaned a little to one side. :confused5: now I know it was just the luggage rack :P

LOL!
;D
Funny you should mention that. Every time we pack for a trip I tell Judy she doesn't need to pack a hair dryer because every motel we stay at has one in the room. Her answer: "But what if this one doesn't?"
