Ghaz;
I think that MJZ's suggestion is the best. I have heard offerings from 2-wheel tunes and others and the sound quality is really poor. I would not invest the $500 or so into one of those systems [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

I have tryed MP3 and CD pocket players.

not sure what your ultimate goal is, but there are options to add an FLH style fairing onto a Softail

IPOD! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Or any MP3 player, esp. one that has XM. Fits easily in your pocket or fork bag and can't beat the sound. Of course this is only for solo rides.
With earbuds? The pressure from the helmet and buds aren't comfortable for long trips. Speakers? Tell me how and where!

I can't make a recommendation as to what sound system would be a good solution for you but it does remind me of a true story...
I got a 99 Road King and rode it to my sons place to show him and the grandkids. My grandaughter was looking it over and says to me "Grandpa, where's the radio?" I told her I didn't have one on the bike. "But how do you listen to music while you're riding?". I started the bike and it sat there rumbling... I said "hear that?" "Yes" she says...... "That's Grandpas music".
Ultra, We have all heard that music, and all still love it, but tunes are a nice option to have!
Your new one has it right! ;)

I've got a pair of molded earplugs with stereo monitors from http://www.azearprotection.com/motorsports.htm . I've had them for a couple years now and use them with my MP3 player. You'll still get a little noise from the wind, or jaw movement, but the sound quality is Excellent, and they are comfortable enough to wear all day. The molded ones work great and I've worn them with or without a helmet. Hope that helps. 8-)

I have a buddy with a pair of Bose speakers, (tiny things, lots of sound), mounted in the foam inside of his beanie helmet. he hooks his iPod up to it and rocks away on his chopper. Might be a way to go!
