Prayers to UnBaLaNcEd for a speedy recovery.

It hurts each time I read or hear of a cage/rider accident, it hits home more when you know someone that is involved.

Be safe out there....

Deuces,

Please let Harry know our thoughts and prayers are with him.  I hate to hear of any rider in this situation, but with members of this site it's as if it was a member of the family.  May his recovery be speedy and complete.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Harry for a speedy and full recovery, and also to comfort his family during his recovery. As has been stated this is terrible thing to hear about any rider but when it's someone you know it really hits hard. In the short time I've been here there are several that I have come to know on a personal basis and Harry is one of them. More then just the chatting online we talked often on the phone when I had a question or needed some assistance.

I am stunned. I had to re-read who was injured. My prayers are already going out to Harry and his family! Harry, I pray that whatever force that is inside of us all to heal ourselves, combined with the forces above, to bring you back to your old self.

My very best to Harry and his family.  Living close, I'll be happy to do anything I can to make life a little easier through what appears to be a long recovery process.  Please let me know.

It's especially bad news following my news of yesterday advising that a very close friend of many years had been killed on his bike near Destin, FL.  The all too familiar left turn across traffic into the bike killing him instantly.  I've seen my share of car/bike wrecks all over the country, but FL is certainly the bottom of the barrel for brain dead drivers.

BLM777, I'm also very sorry to hear about your friend. May God be with you & family's involved.

We don't need anymore news like this my fellow Eagle Riders...Let's do all we can on our journeys to return home safe to our loved ones!

I'd thought the current bunch of patches being worked through would be the last of the group buy endeavors I'd be doing.  However....

Use the address rider@theamericanroad.us and, if you might be so inclined, send a couple of bucks.  I'll pool the resources and send from all of us the largest most obnoxious and potentially obscene floral display he's likely to receive while in hospital.

Whomever has it PM me a hospital name and address and a room number.  Will make sure we send him something nice during the incapacity.

Get well soon UnBalanced- we all want to see you back in the saddle as soon as you can.

God Bless You for a speedy recovery.

Harry,
So sorry to hear about your accident.Godspeed in your recovery Dude.Hope someone hooks you up with a laptop in the hospital so we can stay in touch with you. Make sure the Doctors  know you were "unbalanced" to begin with so they don't try to fix that part. We'd all miss it  :D

When you're well, give us a post if you need anything at all to get back on your feet, ride or whatever. I imagine there's enough spare parts on this site to build a bike if you have problems with your insurance.

To All,

I spoke with Harry's wife yesterday, and he is finally resting well.  At this point he is still in intensive care or maybe they call it Trauma, I'm not sure at this point. I do know that as soon as anyone other than direct family is allowed to see him I'll be there and have a better update.  I am going to print all the prayers from this thread and take it to him.  It's nice to know there are so many brothers out there. As of today I haven't pressed his wife for anymore info than what she volunteers, she has enough on her mind at this point. What I do know, is Harry will have a long recovery, but knowing him he'll be back.  The cherry SE is totaled and the cage that cut him off didn't stop.  I plan on talking to his wife about this but I have to be real careful and delicate, but I want to gather all the info I can and go to the local News Stations to see if anyone seen anything useful and bring this person to justice. It's one thing to have an accident it's totally another to cause an accident like this and not stop, although there is a possibility they cage driver never new at which case doesn't need to be behind the wheel.  I'll keep you updated as I find out more.

Thanks to all, I am deeply touched for all your prayers

Tony

Mark, so that we can wind things up and actually get something to hospital and the family I've told everyone we'll end things at the end of Wednesday.  The scrolling text message was a great idea.  Thanks for covering for my lack of foresight and helping to get the word out.

I've already spoken with a floral and gift shop that services that hospital and they seem to have both the obvious floral arrangements that they can tailer a bit to our tastes and some family care packages that sound effective in being of assistance to those that are having to spend too much time around hospitals when tending to and caring for their ill or injured loved ones.  Will call them back Thursday morning and get everything on the way that day.

You guys are great, but I have some news that we need to delay the sending of flowers or other things for a day or so.  I spoke with Harry's wife and she told me they are moving Harry to another Hospital, so they can jump start his rehab. It will be tommorow before I have the new address and room number.  I'll post it as soon as I have it..

Harry is make great progress and the doctors feel he's out of the woods and no longer a Trama Paitent, which is great news.  Soory I don't have more info, It's was a short conversation with his wife.

Thanks

I've received a couple of messages asking if we'd sent the care package to Harry and his family yet.  No, we haven't.  Since it was posted here Wednesday evening that he was being moved to a different care facility I did not send anything Thursday as initially suggested.  Waiting to find out his new location.

Had PM'd DW to ask where this was but he's not been back on the site since.  If anyone knows facility name, address and room number please advise.

UPDATE

After a couple days of poor to no cell phone service I finally spoke with Harry's wife.  Harry is making progress, but since they moved him, he has had some problems.  Some of which is from the staff at the Hospital not taking good care of him Road Rash. According to his wife he has contracted an infection from the bandages not being changed which his wife is doing on her own.  The doctors now think he has a collapsed lung, and his blood count is very low. They also are now concerned about his head injury.  All these things they lead us to beleive where no problem.  All I can say is "WHAT THE F--K IS GOING ON" .  I am going over there this weekend and will  find out more.  Here is Harrys Hospitals address and room number.  Please boost the Prayer with Maximum Octane.

Harrys wife is also pretty stressed out over this please say a prayer for her too!

Orlando Regional Lucerne Hospital
818 Main Lane
Orlando, Florida 32801

Thanks To All for your prayers

Doctors are like mechanics, except when doctors screw up they can end up burying there mistakes. Shops all over have many who call themselves mechanics and when you find one who IS, consider yourself lucky! Hopefully now Harry is at a place where he can get the attention and correct diagnoses he needs! My prayers are daily and our love goes to him and his family! God Bless!

Did the flowers get there?

Flowers and CARE packages should all arrive today or tomorrow.  The hospital had recently created a concierge service but they weren't geared up yet to be terribly helpful.  No meal vouchers or certificates could be purchased for use within the facility and I was told that restaurants within walking distance weren't an option (or at least not a good one).

So worked with a floral and gift service that serviced the area.  They'll get a few days worth of a nice fruit selection accompanied by a gift and gourmet basket that is supposed to included some longer serving snacks and teas (some of the food items were really good too) along with some comfort items Mrs. Harry might use while spending so much time at hospital.

They didn't have a floral item that could be themed towards bikes at all but they did have a hot rod "guy-type" floral option.  She was instructed to go a bit "over the top" with that and make sure all enjoyed it.

I asked that they actually visit the market and make sure the fruits and other items were fresh rather than pulling from a potentially few days old inventory.  After making that trip the family should be receiving everything this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon.

Harry and his family will be in my family's prayers also. I know that this doesn't sound like much, and Lord knows that it doesn't console them at all. It does, however, show that together we have the power and might to help each others. A thousand prayers goes out to him in his recovery. I hope that he is able to get on his new bike, and ride off as if it never happened. I saw a bad accident the other day, and it made me grateful that it hasn't happened to me (yet). I will be careful because I see one of my brothers go down, I'll think twice...

One thing is for sure the prayers and fond thoughts have all helped.   I am home now 2 weeks 4 days from the date of the whatever you want to call it.

Sizing things up as they are yes I am down a bike and I will get back to that.

I have a broken scapula, 5 broken ribs, a titanium rod that stems from my left knee to my left ankle.   All staples have been removed all pins have been removed from my broken right wrist and fingers.

It was great having friends bring in messages from friends to at least read to me and the family as it made sitting there that much more bearable. thanks again.

For kicks though, people who pull out and run you off the road and then keep going you all suck and i hope i am around one day to even a scale / debt I feel needs some evening up to.

To the banks they are rip off artists.   They want 20,700 for my bike as a totalled crashed bike with a bent frame and neck and needs all need plastic / connections tank etc.

All in all until the ribs heal hopefully another 4 to 5 weeks then there will be a serious light at the end of the tunnel.    I have a lot more time at home now so, if your in need let me know no new cell yet.

-harry

Great to read you are home.  Keep the fire in your belly, it gives you that goal/drive to get back out there.

Bummer on the bank/insurance company with the bike salvage.  Maybe its best, sometimes better to start fresh, look at this as one of those times and make the next one even better.  We're all pullin' for you.

HARRY ITS GOOD TO HEAR YOUR BACK HOME. ITS TOO BAD THESE CAGE DRIVERS ARE SUCH CARELESS DRIVERS THAT THEY ARE. THE MAJOR CITYS IN FLA ARE SOME OF THE WORST IN THE COUNTRY. ESPECIALY I-4 A.K.A. "THE MICKEY MOUSE EXPRESSWAY". I NEVER TRAVEL THAT STRETCH OF ROAD FROM TPA TO DAYTONA UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE. SEEN TOO MUCH BAD ON THAT ROAD. I'LL GO OUT OF MY WAY TO RUN BACK ROADS & TAKE TWICE AS LONG INSTEAD. IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORST DOWN HERE AND THESE DRUNK CAGERS WILL RUN YOU OVER THEN SPLIT WITH NO REMORSE. AT LEAST IF YOU GET HIT OUT IN THE COUNTRY THE GOOD OLE FOLKS WILL STOP & HELP YOU.  GOOD LUCK ON YOUR RECVERY. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
