Title: 1/2 day cover
Post by: SEURG on August 07, 2011, 02:33:00 PM
Anybody purchased a 1/2 day cover for the 2011 Road Glide Ultra?  Looking to purchase and don;t want to make a mistake.  Harly only makes one for the Ultra Classis, no Road Glide Ultra as of yet.  :-\

I have one. You should'nt have a problem.  Order it from LSHD1.com. They will discount it 20%. I buy all my add ons from them. They discount everything 20%.

You might want to take a serious look at Exigent Covers...they offer a full rain cover, and a half cover.  I have the full, and it packs up small, and is good quality.  It doesn't have Harley Davidson on it, but then I don't really want people to know what's under the cover when it's parked in a parking lot at a motel.

I have the Exigent half cover and really like it.  IMO much better than the H-D Oasis half cover and like Terry said it is good quality, packs small and is less expensive than the H-D one. :2vrolijk_21:

Exigent full cover and saddle cover both folded up small and stored in the saddlebag of each bike.  Another fan of their products and very nice folks to work with and buy from.

It really does not fit well - HD never made it for the FLTR.  I have the HD 1/2 cover and it is a very tight fit.  It also has a huge sag in the center so rain and other elements find an easy home there.

I carry instead the full cover.  Takes up more room but covers the bike.

Looked at both - like the Pro-tech the best vased on what I read.  Sent them a note to see if they can put two small holes in it for the antennas.

You can bend the antennas forward, take two rubber bands, and fasten them to each arm rest on the TP...easy, and works like a charm with no damage to anything.

I don't have the Harley antennas, replaced with shorter aftermarket.  These don't seem to "bend" as easy.

I had something at least similar (J&M shorties) on my '06 SEUC.  I think the HD version is the same thing, but haven't seen them in person.  If so, they bend at the base well enough to put the cover on.  Holes would be better though.

For those interested - here is a snap shot of the cover.  I'll get a better shot next weekend in the sun.   ;D
