Looks like all new gear ratios in the cruise drive 6 speed.

I've not looked at the details of it yet Dave.  Is 6th still an OD or has it dropped back to 1:1?

(and good Lord if it's not an overdrive box then that means that in six months Harley will be marketing the "new 7 Speed Screamin' Eagle overdrive transmission" for about three thousand dollars)

Assuming (yeah, I know) the trans is the same or very similar to the '06 Dyna, then it is set up like the Baker DD-6.  Sixth is 1:1, but the primary is overdriven, thus reducing rpm in 6th versus 5th in the older transmissions.  If you ride in 6th most of the time, this is the preferable way to do it from an efficiency standpoint.  I haven't researched the trans on the Dyna's, but I also assume that the shift mechanism would be similar to the SE 6 speed, with shift rings versus sliding the big heavy gears back and forth.  Should make for much smoother shifting with lower efforts.

According to moco, it's an 11% reduction in engine speed in 6th over 5th.  I haven't seen whether that's over the EXISTING 5th or over the NEW 5th. Could just be wording to cover a 1:1 6th with a primary change.
