Title: A Tribute to JC!
Post by: erniezap on September 08, 2012, 12:07:12 AM
JC has lead and documented many, many great rides for the NorCal Crew as well as anyone who came for a visit.  His Ride Reports have been great and definitely entertaining.  Since he traded the motorcycle for a fifth wheel, I thought that I would assemble his Ride Reports in one place since so many people have enjoyed them and that anyone thinking about a California trip has one place to find some of the best that California has to offer.

I am sure that I missed some, but thanks JC for the ride planning, leading, and the memories!

EDIT:  This post is being updated as JC has started riding again and continues to post rides

Part 2 continued here.... https://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=77699.msg1426238#msg1426238

I, for one, didn't think he would ever give it up, he did do us all a great service by posting his journeys on this site. His additions will be sorely missed as will his rides.

JC,

Don't sell ALL your gear. Some how I see you and Terri coming back on a part time basis maybe on rental bikes, or maybe on bikes borrowed from those of us who are blessed to have more than one. I can see you showing up at a GTG hauling two bikes just to do a day ride with us. I keep thinking back to that time you were "Done with motorcycling" and was close to selling the SEEG, when all of a sudden you changed your mind and picked it back up off the show room floor.

Don't sell all your stuff JC.

I've followed all of JC's and Terry's ride reports. He put together some really nice photo shots and stories behind them, defiantly entertaining.. Compiling these into one easy area was a bit of work and appreciated.   Thanks

As someone who has been the benefactor of JC's Ride Report and Custom Routes I greatly appreciate all of the effort.  I am sure I will enjoy more of them for years to come.

As to any future ones, something tells me that they may be slightly different give the new ride and that's cool too!

Thanks JC, Terrie and everone else who charted the path for others to enjoy and follow...

Coming from the guy that I imulated to create my ride reports......and the guy that I learned a lot from in regards to how to capture a particular kind of shot while riding.....and further inspired me to finally break down and buy a DSLR. :2vrolijk_21:   Then, finally, teaching me how to post multiple flicks in one post.  Jock, I owe it all to you buddy, you get all the credit! :2vrolijk_21:

I just remembered JC can haul a trailer behind that new 5th wheel and we know he has plenty of power with that turbo diesel so I guess that makes a perfect chase vehicle. Now we can trade off so everyone can go for short rides. Just wishful thinking on my part, I know. Knowing we won't be riding together any longer leaves a empty spot in my heart. Have to say the best times I've ever had riding were along side you and Terri. Those days will be cherished and remembered forever. And just to let you know, ride reports are always appreciated......even if they come from your cage. Love you brother, Jon  :2vrolijk_21:

When was the last time JC "chased" anyone?  And now he's driving twin turbos!  Congrats on the new vehicle, JC and Terrie.  It's freakin' beautiful and I would expect nothing less from you.

And I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Andy (ak on this forum) for suggesting the idea behind this thread to Ernie.  Andy, thank you very much.  I have already emailed this thread to myself and saved it in a folder titled "Ride Reports" so any time I forget the "why" that Jock asks about, I can open that email and click on any of those links and reminisce that ride all over again.

Thanks again to Ernie for the time and effort it took to search it all out and put it together in one place.  Again, thank you Andy and Ernie! :2vrolijk_21:

I will miss knowing that we won't get to ride together someday but I am excited about your new camping venture.  God bless you and Terrie as you head off in your new adventure's in life.., and can't wait for those pictures.   :P

Just having been on a few rides with him, it saddens me to know those days are gone.  We're hopeful JC and Terri will be able to join us for some of the GTGs in the future.  And yes, keeping up with him was a bit of a challenge...one I was looking forward to.  Those ride reports are awesome and compiled could fill a book!  Great job Ernie!  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I don't know JC - You guys out there on the left really think you have it made with all the spacious parks, beautiful scenery yada - yada - yada - when your ready for some real adventure - com' on over!

We have color too ya know!

Here is a local spacious pull through - that I have to back out of because of the trees.

Although at times, limited in availability. The picture above was taken 11/15. The yellow paper on the tree (left) is:

But to get anything better, we have to travel 200-300 miles to get some space.

On a serious side though. We'll be looking forward to your camp trip reports, keep 'em coming.
Someday we hope to be out there cruising the great expansive west, maybe even drag the trailer to SoCal for some family visits and NorCal fro all the sites you keep teasing us with  :2vrolijk_21:

JC has lead and documented many, many great rides for the NorCal Crew as well as anyone who came for a visit.  His Ride Reports have been great and definitely entertaining.  Since he traded the motorcycle for a fifth wheel, I thought that I would assemble his Ride Reports in one place since so many people have enjoyed them and that anyone thinking about a California trip has one place to find some of the best that California has to offer.

I am sure that I missed some, but thanks JC for the ride planning, leading, and the memories!

I too am ready for the list to grow !!!!!!!!!!!!! Have always enjoyed your RIDE REPORTS, really missed them when you got off the bike for a little while. Glad to see that you've cleared that hurdle. Can't wait to see threads in the ride report section that says started by JCZ. :apple: :jalapeno: :apple: :jalapeno: :apple:

Thanks a bunch Red Ben.

You know, when I thought I was no longer able to ride due to back pain...and sold my bike, bought the 5th wheel and got hooked on RVing.  A couple of members from this forum followed me over to the RV forums just to keep seeing my reports.  One of those guys lives here in San Diego and has become a good friend and riding buddy.  The other guy.....I still haven't even met but we stay in touch via PMs.

Thanks again for the complaments. :2vrolijk_21:
