Title: passenger seat removal
Post by: +RO@D*R@GE+ on November 17, 2012, 08:28:22 PM
I see some of the 2012 cvo rg with the passenger seat removal and no screws showing ...those two big ones holding the leather strap.
question is there a kit to make it flush or something? does anyone have picture of theres with the solo seat so I can see what I'm doing wrong? or do the screws just stay showing?
thanks for any help

also what is this flush button or cap if you will that people are talking about? that goes in the screw hole of the passenger pillion seat?

I figured out the leather flap that covers the screws but now I'm interested in this button or cap for the pillion screw hole
thanks again guys!!!

You should be able to hide them with the rear of the drivers seat. The leather will cover them.

Yes, what he said.  There's a leather flap behind the rider seat.  Just pull it up and over the screws.  Easy-peasy!

Could you show a picture. I've got a 12 CVO Road Glide, and I looked for this leather cover you talk about and I can't seem to figure it out, and it looks ugly with the big bolts showing.
                 Thanks Jonnierock

yes I leave the nobs on, they get covered by the flap on the rear of the seat.

I was concerned with how easy it would be to steal the seat with those twist bolts. Brukus sells a lock kit to replace the twist bolts.

take a look at the under side of you seat. There is a little button type cap that you thread into the fender when riding solo.

So, your question is, "To knob, or not to knob?   :nixweiss:  That's so Shakespearean.    :huepfenlol2:

(I'm obviously not busy enough today.)

Rich and I went and looked at the passenger seat on my bike and sure enough it was there. It simply pulls out of the seat bottom and pushes into the bike. It is a plastic piece. It is not threaded as I thought it would be.

It is under the passenger seat. It looks like something that holds the seat together. It is the only chrome piece under the seat.

Yes, I tried twisting it and that didn't work. A fingernail under the edge and it pops off.

I think the CVO knob looks funny. But to each his own.
